Happy New Year !!

Be Safe, But Have Fun Tonight ....

I've been pretty burnt out the last few weeks, but New Years Eve is finally here, and I've three of the next four days off. Party time !!! No, I won't be going crazy tonight, but it will be nice to get out and meet some new people tonight.

Last year, I spent New Years at home by myself. There are fewer things in life more depressing and pathetic than New Years alone. So, compared to last year, things are definitely looking a bit up. Hope you and yours have a safe and fun holiday, and we'll be back tomorrow to post about poltiics. life, and maybe a little football.... See ya then !

I Need Your Help..

Ever Heard Of Clumping Cat Litter? My Roomie Hasn't ....

There are very few things in this world that I can say that I truly hate. In fact, none are even coming to mind right now, but I do hate one thing - the smell of cat piss.......

I don't own a cat, and I haven't since Tigger left. There's a good reason I don't own one. Mainly because cats don't give a fuck about anyone but themselves. They climb on all the shit you slap them to stay off 24/7, they treat you like shit unless they want something, and they stink. At least their piss does - and it never comes out.

When Ben got this cat, i figured he'd be an adult and take care of the damn thing. Cats are pretty easy to take care of. Feed them , and empty the damn litter box every couple of days. Seems like too much for him, because I have to clean the box constantly. Worse yet, he uses the crappy unscoopable stuff, so the litter turns into a half litter - half piss mixture that the cat refuses to piss in, so he pisses on the laundry room floor instead. Gotta love it...

Here's where you guys come in. Please come by my house take a whiff, and suggets to him that he get in the 21st Century and buy soem clumping cat litter, so the box is clean... That's it. Maybe we can shame him into keeping up on the stink that drives me nuts. I've given up on suggestions to make shit better around here. Maybe you can do better. Yes, i'm in a shitty mood. Have a nice day!

SC6's 2008 Year In Review: We'll Settle For a Quieter 2009, Thank You Very Much !

Good Riddance, 2008 !!
Well, we're almost done with 2008, and like every year, we review what happened in politics, the blog and myself in the year. No doubt, 2008 was a rough year all around - a nasty presidential campaign, the war in Iraq and Afghanistan continue on, the economy and personally speaking, I've had smoother years. Any way you look at it, 2009 will be one of those make or break years. Will the troops come home? Will Barack Obama be able to get Congress to work together and turn the economy around? Will I find happiness and keep a job for a whole year? Check back in December , 2009!
When you take a minute to review 929 posts from the year, you get to see the mistakes a person makes in life, and there are a few things I would like to take back, but whatever boo-boo's I've made seem to be forgiven. But, you try to only make those mistakes once. I'll check on my resolutions later to see how I did, and to make more for 2009. Anyway, let's look back on 2008 at SC6 - The Year that Was....
January
Not quite gainfully employed and alone, life could only go up. But, the year started right off with the early primaries. A pack of close to two dozen candidates quickly was cut to five by month's end. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama wiped the Dems field out, and John McCain looked like the leader, although Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney hung on. Clinton and Obama looked bad in the SC Debate, and we had Gunny Sgt. Hartman help you pick a GOP candidate. SC6 showed it's chops by predicting an Obama victory after SC. We also made the NY Times with our Clyburn Obama endorsement conspiracy theory. A new word enters DC - Economic Stimulus. It doesn't really work, but I got new tires with it..
February
Mike gets a real job, but has to drive 175 miles and sleep on a couch for it. The Dora the Explorer blankie was cool.. Bobby takes us to Punxsutawney for Groundhog Day, and brings back Scrapple - yummy! Fidel Castro steps down, Mitt Romney drops out, and Barack Obama racks up a slew of caucus wins. A long fight looks eminent, and we learn another new word - Superdelegate.
March
Super Tuesday. John McCain wraps up the nomination, Obama builds a sizeable lead for the convention, but Hillary sticks it out. Ed Robinson ends up in jail - again. SC National Commmitteeman candidates spend big bucks for the job. SC6 hits post number 1000.... Eliot Spitzer goes down with a call girl. I go to the 6th District Convention, and somehow end up leaving as Vice-President...
April
Obama and Clinton keep trudging along. Locally, everyone seems to be running for office. Jay-Z and Beyonce tie the knot - America can now go on knowing they aren't living in sin anymore... Gas prices start to really get out of control. SC6 introduces you to the Badger Car Salesman, the Congressman For Sale series, and Ms. X clone Jamie Simpson. Within 3 months, she gets pregnant and has a baby. Mike does not take credit for it.. Earl and I engage in a two month battle later known as Shatner Wars . No one else cares. Moye still does not tell us why he shops at Piggly Wiggly.
May
Mike gets out of the house for once. He visits Graham Slough, and clears ut half of Moncks Corner with his foul-mouthed roast of Earl at his graduation party. Okay, he kept it clean.. Jim Clyburn gets a death threat, and Buffalo run wild on Hwy 278 in Bluffton. The SCGOP Convention takes place, and the ominous smell of discord eminates everywhere there. After 4 months off, Ms. X resurfaces, and Mike takes it all the wrong way...
June
SC Primary Day. Stephen Wukela beats Flotown Mayor Frank Willis by a vote, Hillary finally concedes defeat to Obama. Big Brown blows the Belmont, I quit my job as Florence County GOP Vice Chair - or did I? Hilton Head Honda moves into the Taj MaHonda, and I come along - for now - but I end up without a place to stay in town. Mike realizes it's time to come home. UGA VI dies...
July
One bad, bad month... Stress causes me to totally lose my sense of reality, and I expect things from everyone that they are unable to give. But I have anice 40th birthday party, my cousin Chris comes home from Iraq, and we discover an Old Jewish lady that becomes the hit of the election..Barack Obama goes on a worldwide tour, and the preseson polls have Clemson at #9, and Carolina at 28 - riiiiigggghhhhtttt ! On the 31st, I lose my job, drive straight back to Florence, and piss off Ms.X. I haven't seen her face to face since. But, i'm home, and I'll fix it all...
August
Lots going on.. the Olympics, Brett Favre becomes a Jet, and Smiling Bob from Enzyte goes missing..In politics, i throw my hat into the ring to be Vice-President - but my phone never rings. Hillary Clinton's doesn't either. I predict Joe Biden and Tom Ridge as VP's. Luckily, McCain proves me wrong. The Montauk Monster washes on Long Island - then disappears. Stephen Wukela's one vote win is upheld, but Rocky Pearce jumps the turnstile to run against him. We profile, then actually get to interview the Planters Peanut Girl. After two weeks, i hook up with Cale Yarborough Honda. Things get better..
September
Hurricanes Gustav and Ike screw up gas prices so bad, P. Diddy flies commercial.. TS Hanna pummels Flotown with 26 MPH winds, but we get a stray dog until i finally find the owner after 8 days. Ed Robinson ends up in jail once again... Lauren Lowery leaves Channel 15, and I stop watching the news. Yankee Stadium closes.... Wall Street hits the skids, and The Fed passes the $800 Billion bailout. SC6 writes it famous Kenney Boone - Chuck Norris posts. Lastly, I down Ms. X on the blog like an idiot on purpose, but the friendship gets patched up after a week or two. Nothign noteworthy goes on in the Presidential election..
October
The election hits full stride, but all goes bad for McCain. The debates are a draw, which causes me to call the election for Obama on October 4th. The bad economy helps gas prices to finally start falling. The Malocchio hleps my fantsay football to be like the Dallas Cowboys - greta early on before the winter swoon. Tina Fey's Sarah Palin imitation draws raves and helps Obama. SC6 gives out it's mostly partisan endorsements, and we get two new regular commenters - P-Luv and Liz. Now we have six !!
November
Obama wins in a relative landslide, and we gladly take a break from politics.... Guns 'n Roses new album comes out after a 14 year wait - and it disappoints. A post on BBQ gets a mindboggling 26 comments. We decide to talk exclusively about ribs and pork from now on... Before Obama takes office, Detroit asks for $34 Billion to keep running inefficiently, and everyone fights for Cabinet and Senate seats. Hillary gets one, but Clyburn and Spratt stay at home... The Nickname Calculator gives us 'Sugar Lips, Fluffy Num-Num', and after a Snickers Bar bribe, we out P-Luv...
December
I get tired of blogging and other things a bit, and I quit blogging - until the Shoe Thrower compels me to post again. We try to give advice to explain and tell how to survive the economy.... OJ goes to jail, and Rod Blogojevich will soon be after trying to extort money for Obama's old Senate seat. A mysterious Steam Buddy ends up on my doorstep, and it takes me three days to figure out who sent it - and it costs $8 to send it back.... lastly, I experience the Redneck Pleasure that is Championship Wrestling live - and Bobby becomes a Daddy three hours later...
See, it always has a happy ending. Thanks for reading the blog, and if there is something you liked best that I forgot to mention, leave a comment. Here's to a smooth and quiet 2009...

For Obama, This Guy Is SO MONEY !!!

You Don't Know The Face, But You Know the Name...

Welcome to the most honest blog in all of politics. Yes, we are one of the few blogs around that is willing to admit that WE DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING. Just all of the useless stuff, and some worthwhile info... We almost got busted today for it, but who could blame us?

I went onto The Hill.com to get the list of all of Barack Obama's cabinet nominees, and other important post assignments, mainly to pick on them. However, one just jumped out at me. The name was superfamiliar to me, and I'd never seen i involved in politics before. So I had to investigate....
The name was Jon Favreau. For most of you, including myself, you would likely think that Jon Favreau is the actor/director/writer best known for 'Swingers', 'Rudy', and 'The Breakup'....Nope.
It appears that nearly everyone in Chicago is named Jon Favreau - including Obama's speech writer going back to 2005! It seemed to make sense. Favreau seems a bit towards the Hollywood liberal side, he's got plenty of money from acting and writing screenplays, and we thought that maybe he just decided to take a break from it to write Obama's speeches. Not quite.
Fortunately, we caught this one before it made print here. Good thing too, because I don't think we would have any credibility left if we screwed that one up.......

Hey, I Hurt My Knee Too... Can I Have a Supermodel Like Tom Brady ??

Your life sucks. My life sucks... At least compared to some people it does. While it's not very healthy to be jealous or envious of others, there are times when it just slaps you in the face...
We talked about how perfect Tim Tebow's life was last month. Well, Tebow has NOTHING on Tom Brady... That's because Brady has everything Tebow has, plus a NFL QB's salary. Oh, and Gisele Bundchen.
Word is that Brady, still nursing that injured knee of his, asked Bundchen to marry him, and she accepted. Duh, he's Tom Frickin' Brady - of course she said yes. My knees are killing from walking on that crappy pavement at the dealership during construction, and no supermodels are nursing me back to health. Some guys have all the luck....

Reapportionment 2012: Will South Carolina Have It's 7th District?

Will the Pee Dee Get It's Own District? Not This Time....

According to an article in TheHill.com, US Census Data indicate that more congressional seats will be heading south in the 2012 reapportionment - but South Carolna will not be one of them. Some people I know might have to wait ten more years to run for Congress.

Seriously, I know of a few people who were making plans to run in 2012 if SC got a 7th District, and the Pee Dee got out from under Jim Clyburn's thumb. Looks like it ain't gonna happen. Here are the winners and losers:

Winners:

Texas +3

Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, Georgia +1 each

Losers:

Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Iowa, New Jersey, Louisiana. -1 each.

Yes, there is an obvious regional trend. the Rust Belt is losing seats, and the Sun Belt is gaining seats - provided that your state wasn't hit by Hurricane Katrina......But the Palmetto State won't be reaping the benefits, at least for another decade. So, you'll be seeing the Pee Dee get scraped along with loser areas like North Charleston, NE Columbia, Bamberg and Edisto Island. It'll be a bottom barrel district of unlike-minded communities too far away from each other to organize - either with itslef , or against it's Congressman.

Of course, Florence County does have the most voters in the 6th district, but they're not able to exert any power over the rest of the District, so look forward to another ten years of frustration and political impotence....

What If Hermie Were a Marine ? SC6 Gives You 'Full Metal Elf".

Hermie With a Skull From a VC He Must Have Wasted...
As you can see, the last couple of posts have completely gone down the trail of bad taste. Between P-Luv and myself, we seem to be having a cartoon gone awry contest. Those of you who know me know there are two things I love: Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Full Metal Jacket. I guess someone else out there likes Gunny Hartman too....
In the theory that it two things are good, that the two of them together must be better, we found this Reeses Peanut Butter Cup of a clip from YouTube. Hermie is Joker, and his Elf Boss is Gunny Hartman. Hey, You've Got Your Chocolate in My Peanut Butter !!!! Enjoy, and Merry Christmas !

We've Got Some Sick, Twisted, Funny Puppies Out There, People...

What If Bert & Ernie Went Death Metal ??
If you guys think I'm weird and have too much free time on my hands, I have NOTHING on some people out there. I find stupid stuff to make you guys smile, but I don't waste endless hours making the junk... At least not usually.
I was pulling up the YouTube clip of 'Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown', and I ended up running into some crazy stuff related to all the cartoons and show I watched as a kid. it made me wonder - what if these shows were made in the Heavy Metal Era?
Here's Charlie Brown:
And how About Cookie Monster?
Here's one of Elmo going Speed Metal w/ the Goo-Goo Dolls... who knew?
Next, we have the Muppet Show Band doing Metallica:
Be prepared for Bert & Ernie going Hardcore Brutal Metal here: I WARNED YOU.
And lastly, for those of you younger, more hip-hop oriented readers:
Damn, who knew Bert's voice was so low - and his mouth so foul? They use the word 'nigga' less at a KKK rally.... So I've heard. Sick, Sick People !!!!

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas !

Santa and His Homeboy Rudolph Have a Big Night Ahead ...

It's about 630PM right now, and word is that Santa Claus is leaving Spain, and is now delivering toys to kids in West Africa. I'm all set for him this year. I left some milk and cookies on the table. Actually, I'll put the milk out later, so it doesn't get gamey. I also lef the flume open on the fireplace, and I didn't leave a fire burning in this time - unlike last year. Most importantly, I have been a VERY GOOD boy this year...........

Okay, maybe Santa isn't coming down the chimney tonight. But my hope for all of you is that you have a wonderful day off, and may each of you and your families be blessed. Granted, I won't have everything i wish for this Christmas, but rarely do we get everything we want in life. Still, I am very lucky - certainly luckier than last year.

Here is a clip to remind us why we celebrate Christmas. Enjoy the chldhood memory, because it probably would not be made in today's PC World..

SC6 Gives You Our Favorite New Song....

"Tobe's Got a Drinking Problem" By Street Dogs...

I had some putz try to accuse me of not listening to anything aside from 90's Heavy Metal last week, because I joked about the guy giving a 50 ton pile of records away of old stuff. But I think my musical tatses are quite diverse. I've had a taste for Irish Punk Music the last couple months. Maybe it's been all those airings of 'The Departed' on HBO.....

But, onto the music. My favorite new song - or maybe not new - is 'Tobe's Got a Drinking Problem' by Street Dogs. They're a band from Boston - where else! The singer used to be the songer for The Dropkick Murphys, and he quit to become a firefighter. After 4 years, he decided to get back into rock, and he formed the band.

Irish Punk music makes some people want to get drunk, others to fight, and some others to do both, but I just find it peppy and fun... Here's the clip:

Happy Festivus !!!

Time to Break Out The Alumninum Pole Again !!!

Yes, it's December 23rd, and that means only one thing - that I'll be running around like a lunatic taking care of Christmas travelers 'emergencies' - like squeaky brakes, 'that noise under the hood', and the oil change you've been putting off for six months. Actually, the 23rd means that it's the greatest holiday of the year - Festivus !

Okay, maybe it's not the best holiday, but for someone who get run into the ground right up until I lock the doors on the 24th, a holiday that occurs two day earlier helps. If you aren't familiar with Festivus, it's a fictional holiday glamorized on the TV show, 'Seinfeld'. It was supposed to be a figment of George's father, but it actually was invented by the father of a writer on the show.

There are many variants of how you can celebrate Festivus, but there are some basic ground rules that all Festivus celebrants go by - and this year, Rick, Charlie and I stuck to the basics. The alumninum pole is the first. It's a lot easier than decorating a Christmas Tree - and you can sell it for 50 cents a pound afterwards. Here's some other highlights of Festivus....

The little known Pepperidge Farm cake decorated with M&M's... Yummy !!

Rick engages in his Festivus 'Airing of Grievances', where you tell everyone how they've disappointed you...

Rick & I honor the 'Feats of Strength' tradition by wrestling each other....

.... and Rick wins. Never wrestle a Gypsy. 'Uhh, Dude, Can You Get Your Foot Off My Balls??'

However you celebrate Festivus, make it a great one......

Matt Schaub, You Suck !!

My Fantasy Football Brilliance Is Undone By One Sucky QB...

I'm writing this as I get ready for bed, and I hope it doesn't make print, but I doubt it won't. It appears that my triumphant return to fantasy football, where I went 11-4 and took first place in the regular season, is about to end. Not that it was a surprise, but how I lost is....

I was playing that genius of FF, the incomparable Ed Palmer. Ed's lineup is unbelievable, and I'm have no idea how he only ended up at 7-8, just barely making the last playoff spot. Ed's been on fire lately, averaging 150 points plus a game lately, where I've been lucky to get 110. it looked like a big time asswhooping was coming this weekend.

However, never being one to go down without a fight, I made some moves this week to do my best. A receiver here, a running back there. And for the most part, I made all the right moves - just like Tom Cruise. But what to do at QB?

Quarterback is by far the most important position in fantasy football. A good running back or wide receiver gets maybe 15 points - good QB gets 40-50. I've been ridign Kurt Warner and Jay Cutler all year with good results. but Warner was playing in New England in a foot of snow, and Cutler was throwing in bad weather too, so i decided to pick up a QB . I thought about Chad Pennington against KC, but it was 8 degrees there. He ended up throwing 3 TD's.

Nope, instead I took Matt Schaub of Houston against Oakland. He started a bit slow, but he got better. However, he couldn't put the damned ball in the end zone, and then absolutely SUCKED in the 4th quarter, going 2-10 and throwing an interception, which turned a 40 point lead into a 27 point lead, with Ed having his QB Aaron Rodgers of Green Bay playing tonight. Rodgers has 2 TD's and 26 points at halftime....

No, i'm not a coach you'd want to play for. If my guys suck, they suck. Yeah, it was a good season. After two years out of the game, i showed my skills in putting together a team that was always tough to beat, even if we couldn't score. Congrats, Ed - I thought I had you for a couple hours there !! We'll be back next year....I managed to stay up to watch me lose 131.00-129.35. boo-hoo !

.

Maybe It's Time to Play the Lottery ....

I Get a Numerical Impossibility With My Electric Bills....
Get ready for a story you might not believe... I'm a numbers guy. All through school and business, I've been able to see things about numbers that others might not have had. However, today I had soemthing happen that anyn would see an unbelievable coincidence - how unbelieveable might stun you.....
I usually get both my electric bills on the 10th of the month or so. The first one for the first place came on time, and it was for 117.15 - the second one never came. I finally called them today to get another bill mailed to me. It was taken care of, and she asked 'any other questions?' My answer? 'Yeah, how much is the bill for?' Guess what the amount was ? You guessed it - $117.15
Yeah, it seems funny at first glance, but let me give you an idea of how kooky that was. First off, the houses are no where alike. One is 1840 square feet, made from Masonite, and built in 1990. The other is only 1270 square feet, vinyl sided and built in 1997. I've had power bills as high as 175.00 at one , and 120.00 at the other. So, the chances of having the two bills be the same in the same month are 210,000,000 to 1 !!!
The lady at Progress Energy's voice seemed to tremble when she read that to me a bit. Truly freaky indeed, don't you think? That's about the same odds as winning the lottery. Think I'll go get a ticket - or two.

SC6 Takes You On a Tour Of the Heart Attack Grill.

Disgustingly Lethal..... And Proud Of It !
For those of you who haven't seen me lately, I've dropped a few pounds the last few months. Running around the dealership all day, combined with eating a bit more sensibly have let me get down to my lowest weight in probably in twelve years or so. There's still room for improvement, but it's getting there....
As nice as it is, I have to admit one thing..... I really miss cheeseburgers. A LOT. I'll have one every once in a while, but I'd eat em for breakfast, lunch and dinner if I could. So instead, i have to have burger fantasies likes this clip Bobby sent to me. It's a CBS Sunday Morning clip from a place called the Heart Attack Grill. It's a burger joint with a Manager dressed like a doctor, and the scantily clad waitresses are dressed like nurses...
How bad is the place? They don't even serve Diet Coke. All the burgers are rated by 'Bypass' - single , double , triple or quadruple. The Quad Bypass Burger has 8000 calories and two pounds of beef. Sounds like a yummy death !!!
.

Time for Another Classic SNL Clip.... Old Glory Insurance With Robot Protection.

That Robot May Look Friendly, But Watch Out !!
Time for another Sunday morning smile for you. I had been looking for this one for a long time, and I finally found it. It's one of my favorite SNL spoof commercials. Its for Old Glory Insurance , and features Sam Waterston from 'Law and Order'.
In case you're ever trying to find your favorite SNL clips, here's a tip - don't look on YouTube - they're not there. Go to Hulu.com - they have thousands of them. It must be some kind of copyright deal. Enjoy !!
.

What Happened To My Top Chef ?

One of My Favorite Shows Goes Soft This Week...

How does Bobby know I'm gay? Because I watch 'Top Chef' on Bravo... Actually, I think I love that show. If that makes me gay, so be it. Truth be known, i think watching anything on Bravo might qualify you to be gay. But, 'Top Chef' may it the straightest show on the channel.

If you haven't watched it, 'Top Chef' is a competitive cooking show, where they get 16 Chefs from across America to show their skills. I like watching them make stuff that I'll never eat. After yesterday's episode, I immediately went to Zaxby's for a chicken fix. At the end, they eliminate one of the chefs with the trademark 'Pack up your knives and go.' Pretty harsh....

Yesterday, they made food for a benefit for AmFAR, the AIDS organization. The theme for Christmas was 'The 12 Days of Christmas'. Some got it, some didn't. But the overall opinion was that the food kinda sucked.. they gathered the three weakest chefs at the end to cut one - then didn't cut anyone, because it was Christmas ! WTF ??!!!!

Not cutting a contestant on Top Chef is like going to an execution, and no one dies.... I feel like they stole an hour of my life from me. If I'm gonna watch, someone better be going home. Especially since they could have easily cut half of them yesterday. Next week, thye better get back to form and cut two of them. Party's over ...

Meet the Next 'Bosses' At GM , Chrysler ?

Is This The Next Step Once The Fed's Cash Runs Out ?

So, the Bush Administration has stepped in and given GM and Chrylser about $14 Billion to tide them over for the holidays.... Personally, I think a card and $25 good at WalMart would have been a suitable Christmas gift, but I don't have one of those gift converter charts handy....

What is the Fed didn't give them cash from the TARP money set aside for the banks? A visit to the loan shark behind Satriale's ? What if that failed? Word is, GM and Chrysler were are prepared to make a stop at TitleMax with about half a million titles in hand.....

Yeah, We're Still On Break, But It IS Our Birthday

Yes, The Terrible Two's Are Over ....
December 17, 2005... Charleston, SC.... I am sitting in the den of my overpriced and unnecessary apartment , when I decide to stop wasting my time writing Letters to the Editors that don't get printed - and i start writing blog posts that don't get read !
While today is the 105th anniversary of the Wright Brothers historic flight in Kitty Hawk, NC, it is also the 3rd Anniversary of the birth of SC6 - The Greatest and Most Schizophrenic Blog ever devised....
No, we're not giving a big retrospective post, and we're still on vacation, but we are taking a minute to note the day.. We'll be back soon, but for now, we're laying low, and rediscovering all that Cable TV has to offer...

'Here Is Your Going Away Present, You F**king Dog !!" Bush Eludes the Shoe-Icide Bomber...

Nouri, Did You See That Bugger ??

Well, that was some stretch without posting, wasn't it? Actually, I should have done this 36 hous ago, when I would have beaten everyone to the punch, but it was all of 8 hours after I 'stopped blogging'. But, after thinking about it, I decided I needed to post on it for historical purposes. If there is one thing that SC6 stands for, it's to find te stupidity and humor in politics and the world. Is there anything that exemplifies this more than Bush having a shoe tossed at him ?

Yep, some reporter gets mad at Bush for flattening his country , throws his shoe at him, and now he's a National Hero. Iraqi authorities really need to let this guy go before it gets out of hand. However, if you think ths incident is going to turn this guy into star, don't count on it. Let's make a bet.... I'll bet you th guy dies from some mysterious cancer within 2 years. Enjoy that prison soup, buddy - hope it was worth it...

BTW, anyone have any suggetsion for a song to play while Bush is avoiding the shoes??

These May Be The Last Words You'll Hear From Me For a While.....

It's Time to Take a Break From This ....

Yeah, this is one of those late night, just got back from the club posts where I vent my frustrations out... I only had one beer, so it can't be that I'm drunk. This leads me to conclude that what i'm thinking right now are my actual feelings. I know once I was going to quit the blog - for a bad reason, but it's what I thought was best at the time. This time, it's what i genuinely feel the need to do. I'm taking some time off from SC6.....

How long? I don't know. It could be just a couple days before I get my enjoyment back to do this. It could be a lot longer. The fact is that this is feeling way too much work lately - work that I am not getting any love from.. Maybe it's because its the holidays, maybe it's because the election is over, but like a lot of things that I've spent my free time on lately, I'm making an effort to entretain, and it's falling on deaf ears.

Maybe I've lost my touch a bit. It's not like I don't have anything to talk about. There's a stack of articles a foot high on my dresser to chat about, but I have no motivation or real desire to blog about them. I get on the laptop, and a dull haze fills my head. In short, i don't give a shit - and maybe it's showing in my work. If that's why some of you guys aren't commenting anymore, I'm sorry. We had a nice run going, but it's gotten real quiet around here, and no one likes to yell into the canyon, and hear no echo........

SC6 has become this beast that has taken over all of my free time, and it's time to get that part of my life back. Every day after working ten to eleven hours, I spend another 2-3 doing trying to squeeze 2-3 decent posts out every night. That's not a life, it's a sentence. I finally have my job straightened out like it used to be, now it's time to enjoy myself again. I deserve it. For three years this Wednesday, I've busted my hump on this blog. 1724 posts - you do the math..

I'm sorry, but I need a break. Bad...

Old News Is New News: Faith No More's 'We Care a Lot'....

A 20 Year Old Song That Is Topical Today? WOW ....

One last post before I go out to dinner tonight... BTW, Happy Birthday, Ben and Chris !! Now onto business.. I have a usual rotation of 7 or 8 CD's that I usually listen to on the ten minute drive to and back from work. One of them is Faith No More's Greatest Hits. I love Faith No More - always have. They get a bad rap as a Red Hot Chili Pepers clone, and that thye're dated to the 80's. I beg to differ.....

FNM -as we in the know refer to them as - we perhaps one of the most diverse groups ever to come out. They could rock, rap, jazz, disco or folk with the best of them. And they even were as prescient as Nostradamus. Don't believe me? Take a listen...

Here's the MTV clip of their first hit, 'We Care a Lot'. Of course, this is when Roddy Bottum was singing, soon before Mike Patton replaced him. Then the band really took off. They're a hell of a lot more than the band you saw in 'Epic' - although that song is great too. While 'We Care a Lot' is often described as a song about life in the 80's - it refers to Live Aid, Garbage Pail Kids and California falling into the Pacific - but some things eventually come back around again. Among the topics are America at War - odd considering all we had in the 80's was Grenada - Guns, and the Transformers. It was the toy back then, but look what happened 20 years later !!

It just shows that eventually, all things come back around. That should give the GOP soemthing to look forward too. Here's the clip. It's classic 80's cheesy video, made in someone's living room but it's still fun.

Joe Biden Beats Obama in Something... He Gets a Dog First !

Finally, There'll Be Someone Biden Can Boss Around in DC ....

I like the way Joe Biden has his hands positioned in this picture - yeah Joe, that's how you pet a dog. All this year, the attention has been that the Obama Daughters would get a puppy if their father made it to the White House. Well, it looks like they weren't the only one that got promised one..

Yep, VP Joe Biden confirmed that he too is getting a doggie !! Biden went to Chester County, Pa. to pick out a German Shepherd pup, which will be trained and sent to the Vice Presidential mansion in Washington in January. No one likes dog pee on the Vice Presidential carpet....

Biden has had to fight off the criticism that he is stealing Obama's thunder, but he says that he was planning on getting a dog all along. Reportedly, his wife had pictures of various dogs taped to the back of his plane seat during the campaign. While no name has been given yet, the decision on it's name will be in the hands of his granddaughters. We'll try to help them pick one - what's German for 'Hair Plugs'??????

SC6 Remembers Bettie Page...

50's Sex Icon Dies at Age 85....

The world lost a real legend and enigma this week, when Bettie Page passed away. She had been suffering from pneumonia when she had a heart attack and was taken off life support. She was 85 years old.

She probably looks pretty familiar to most of you, but for those of you who don't know her, Bettie Page WAS Sex in the 1950's. She was a major pinup girl, with her trademark black bangs - and little else. usually dressed in lingerie, but often pictured in the nude, Page was infamous in the 50's. By the end of the decade, she was invetsigated by the US government and harrassed by the religious right, before the Tennessee native became a born-again Christian.

Though her life slowed down, she always tried to keep her image intact by not making public appearances. Her feeling was that to see her as an older lady would hurt the legend she made earlier and she may have been right..

You can agree with her work or disagree, but you have to give credit to a woman who broke all the rules at a time when no one did... She was one spunky lady - and pretty hot too....

So, Is Obama An American , Or What?

Court Cases Questioning Obama's Nationality Are Everywhere....
For months preceeding the Election last month, I got tons of e-mails and article questioning if Barack Obama is really an American born citizen or not. Of course, the importance of this would be that he'd be ineligible to be President. What a lot people didn't know is that there are actual lawsuits filed by people to find this out..
One of them just made it to the US Supreme Court, who just denied an appeal request from a New Jersey man who claimed that since Obama's father is a Kenyan, that would make Obama a British subject - and not able to be President. The case was turned down by the Supreme Court without comment. That usually is a sign that the claim is ridiculous. PLuv could likely give us a more correct legal interpretation, but my guess is that just because you father was born in Kenya, that doesn't make you a Kenyan citizen.
The more discussed of the two is if Obama was even born in the US at all. A lawsuit from a Pennsylvania who claims that Obama was born in Kenya, not in Hawaii as he claims. He also says that Obama could be an Indonesian citizen, since he lived as a boy. Well, you can only have one or the other, dude - which one is it? Even Obama's Kenyan grandma has claimed he was born in Africa - OOPS!
However, the more credible evidence - like actual documents - seem to support Obama. Hawaii state records do have his certified birth as August 4, 1961 - they're even stamped with an embossed seal. Also, there are official birth announcements in hawaiian newspapers recording his birth. Either there has been a tremendous coverup to hide everythign here, or........ Obama was born in Hawaii as he claims.
That case hasn't been heard by the Supreme Court yet, but expect another denial. So, as unhappy as some might be , Obama will be President next month....

OK, Who Sent Me the Steam Buddy ??

Time For Another Strange But True Story....

Today was a pretty good day. BONUS TIME, BABY !!! Old Mikey did pretty good last month, and all the bills are paid up to date.... But, I did have one thing happen today that I haven't been able to figure out. And it involves Billy Mays - as usual.....

I go to the PO Box to pick up my mail, and the box is full, and there's a key in it, which means I have something too big for the box. I open the box, and there's a plastic package addressed to me, so I open it, and it's a Steam Buddy. It's some goofy portable steamer to get wrinkes out of you clothes. It's already paid for, and it's in my name. My first thought is that I've just become a victim of credit card fraud - but they sent it to me anyway??

Naturally, my first impulse was to call my credit card companies and check for charges - there are none. It was shipped ten days ago, so it's been paid. By the way, who would pay $56.40 for this piece of shit? So far, not me, but who knows?

Maybe someone's trying to tell me that a good iron would do me some justice. Could be true... I'm pretty lazy with the laundry - I usually try to grab the shirts right out of the dryeer so I can avoid ironing. C'mon, we all do that - don't we? Right now, i'm just waiting for Customer Service at Steam Buddy to open tomorrow, so I can find out who bought this P.O.S.

Like I always said - don't trust anything that Billy Mays sells !!

Ahh..... Dreaded Childhood Memories !!

Boy Scout Camp.. Jason's Out There Somewhere. Ch-Ch-Ch !!!

It's Wednesday, which means band practice, but we don't take days off here at SC6, so we're giving you a short post. I was on mapquest today, and I ended up locating my old Summer Camp when I was a Boy Scout. Sure enough, Camp Wakpominee is still in business every summer, still keeping the Boy Scouts entertained....

I liked going to camp evry summer during those years, but that friggin' lake scared the crap out of me. It looks just like Camp Crystal Lake from Friday the 13th.... And this was in the early 80 remember... Ch-Ch-Ch, Ha-Ha-Ha - Jason's popping out of the lake !! I decided to not go for my Mile Swim because I had the cross the lake a couple times - where "The Kid Drowned"... Pass !! Anyway, here's a couple pics of Camp Wakpominee - where Jason lies in waiting....

Canoeing, Rowing, even Sailing - they have it all...

The view from the pool deck, where you can swim with the walleye, muskies , pike and other sharptoothed fish!!

Enemy or Friend ? It's Another Love Calculator...

He's a Nasty Little Devil, Ain't He ?
One thing that always seems to get you guys into the blog and leaving comments are games we find here everyone once in a while. Makes sense - if i manage to get you guys involved, you feel more a part of the blog, so we found another goofy game for you.
The Love Calculator was a big hit, so I looked up other types on a similar theme. This one doesn't rank by a percentage, it just gives you an up or down by simply listing you and the other person as a 'Friend' or 'Enemy'. The nice part is you can list up to four at a time, so if you have a bunch of options, you get thru them faster...
I compared this quiz to the original Love Calculator, and there are some differences: I am still on the positive with Lauren Lowrey, Sarah Palin, Flo from Progressive and Lindsay Lohan. However, me and The Planters Peanut Girl and unfortunately, Ms. X are 'enemies' - even though Ms. X's first name is the same as Flo's last name. Just to let her know, you are friends with Jesus, The Easter Bunny and Pot. But you are not friends with Santa Claus (not good during Christmas Season), and also - Alcohol is officially Your Enemy !!! ha, ha !
Check it out, and let us know how it goes....

The Reino Curse Claims Another Victim: Blagojevich Ends Up In the Joint.

B-Rod, Shaking Down a Pair of Seniors For Hush Money ???
Like I've told you guys hundreds of times, SC6 is a high danger area - or any involvement with me for that matter. I listed it all once, but the main thing you need to know is that beign on this blog invites trouble - just ask Illinois Senator Rod Blagojevich.
Only a couple of days after I do a blog post about his inability to keep his mouth shut about his choice for replacing Barack Obama in the Senate, B-Rod was arrested by the FBI for numerous cases of extortion in the use of his office. He is in some serious shit. Even for Chicago, the city where shakedown is still not considered a dirty word, this is bad.
B-Rod had been under surveillance for months in connection with a scheme to shake down contributions from businesses trying to get state government contracts. Word is B-Rod's goal was to extract $2.5 million by the end of the year, when campaign laws were changing. But the most shocking allegation is that Blagojevich was trying to parlay giving away Obama's Senate post in exchange for Board positions for both him and his wife at various coroporations and non-profits, totalling nearly $150k a year. Good work if you can get it.....
The arrest has thrown everything involving B-Rod's choice into a tailspin. The state Assembly has already planned on convening impeachment proceedings before he can pick a replacement for Obama, in the fear that whoever he picks will be tainted by B-Rod's involvement. But , he is still Governor, and he can pick a Senator tomorrow if he wants.
Obama has said that he knows nothing about Blago's extortion plans. That's no surprise, although there is a definite Blago - Rezko -Obama link there. My guess is that Obama will get a pass. The bigger loser will likely be Rep. Danny Davis, who B-Rod was going to pick. Instead, the choice will soon fall onto the Lt. Governor, who is very close to Rep. Jan Schakowsky, who would KILL for the job....
Like the FBI Attorney handling the case - the same guy who nailed Scooter Libby - said, 'The breadth of corruption laid out in these charges is staggering. This is a new low." Hopefully, this will be the last time it happens - but I really doubt it. The Curse continues........

Out of My Element? I Watch Wrestling Live...

Triple H Lays the Smackdown at the Florence Civic Center...

I've had previous signs that the world is coming to an end. There is a new one - I have witnessed championship wrestling live.... The end is near, folks ! Yes, Mr. Straightlace Republican sat with the good ole boy rednecks and watched Wrasslin'....

Of course, i didn't pay for tickets - I'm kind of a big deal, so these things just fall into my lap. Actually, I was over Bobby's watching the Alabama-Florida game, and Ed Palmer had two extra tickets. Although I wanted to watch the rest of the game, I couldn't resist... Off to the Civic Center we went..

Honestly, if you've never gone, you really should do it at least once - it was freakin' hilarious!! We had second row seats on the second floor level, so we might have been 50 feet from the ring - far enough to not get spit on, but close enough to tell absoultely that wrestling is, uh, choreographed... Don't tell the guys that. They're still about 300 pounds apiece - that part is real. The Great Khali is HUGE .... Here's some pics from the matches:

The Undertaker grabs Edge by the throat... He's actually a really nice guy.

Hornswoggle and his teammate celebrate with his sheleighly - the world's smallest sheleighly!!

I told you Khali was big.....

Yeah, it was a different experience. Not a lot has changed in wrestling since I was in high school - there are Good Guys, Bad Guys, the drama is still the same, and in the end, the good guys always win.

Obama Promises to Quit Smoking - Cigarettes...

Personally, I Preferred Lay's Potato Chips in My Heyday....

We blogged about this during the campaign, but Barack Obama's dirty little secret - and an unhealthy one at that - has come up again. In an interview with Tom Brokaw on Sunday, he was lambasted by the mumbly Brokaw for not having quit smoking.

Most of you may not be aware of this, but smoking is not allowed in the White House. Seriously, even the President of the United States can't smoke in what is basically his own residence!! Imagine not being able to smoke at home.... Ridiculous, but technically, it IS owned by the citizens of the US, so you need to make sure he doesn't get all the drapes all stinky.

Now, the big question needs to be asked - is is that important that Obama quit smoking? We try to make our leaders to be these marbleized icons of perfection, but the truth is that most of them are flawed. I can't think of one in the past 50 years that didn't have some flaw in one way or another. So, Obama likes to light up a cigarette like he's hiding behind the wall in gym class back in high school once in a while. I don't smoke, but I don't assassinate those who do. I have my flaws, Obama has his...

Now, smoking is not good for you, and it does set a bad example for his own kids, and those across America who look up to him, but I'm an adult. All I'm concerned about is if he can effectively run the country. If he can do that and smoke or drink a beer here or there, who cares? There's only one thing I don't want my President to EVER DO - and that's sing Karaoke.

Cigars For Everyone !! Bobby Is a Daddy!

Say Hi to Caitlin Rose Leise...

Bobby makes the same face when the Steelers or Penn State lose... Congrats all around to Bobby today, for he is a first time Daddy! Yep, Jeannie gave birth to Caitlin Rose at 1:40 am today, coming in at 6 lbs, 2 oz. , and 18 inches for those of you involved in the baby pool... The kid did kind of let me down, because I predicted on Thursday that Caitlin would come on Saturday, and she missed it by less than 2 hours !!!!

It was a surprise actually that she came in that close, because Jeannie only started having contractions at about midnight. I can't tell enough what a trooper she's been during this. She had to take eight insulin injections everyday the entire pregnancy, and yesterday, she even cooked dinner and helped put up the Christmas Tree. There was no time for the epidural or episiotomy. Damn..... Jeannie deserves a trophy.

Bob's a pretty proud Pop...

Jeannie is slightly more exhausted...
Since she was born on December 7th, I tried to convince them to rename her Pearl Harbor Leise, but it fell on deaf ears... So maybe they will settle for Caitlin Delano Rose-Evelt Leise. December 7th, 2008 - a day that will live in infamy... When suddenly and without warning (well some warning), bobby became a father. A act so unbelievable , tat it could only be surpassed by me becoming a Daddy, God help us! - FDR.
