Does Iowa REALLY Matter ???

As we're finally at the first of the big votes, I just have one question? With such a convoluted system as the Iowa Caucus is, does whoever wins here really matter.... Or more importantly , should it?
The campaigns have spent nearly $50 million in the Hawkeye State - about $200 for every registered voter here. The voters there seem more inclined to vote for candidates that spend more or show up more here, rather than which candidate has the best platform....It's a bit of an egotistical way of voting. I met most of the GOP candidates this year, but I didn't choose Rudy because I got in van with him for a couple hours.
Want to get an idea of really how little importance voters in Iowa are taking this? There are expected to be about 250,000 caucusers tonight voting. Now, before you think that that's alot, there are over 3 MILLION registered voters in Iowa !! So, about 8% of all voters will take part. The people there are telling everyone that they're waiting to pick one, that they're carefully vetting all the candidates, but in truth, they're like the rest of America......... they are paying attention, and they don't give a crap...
Maybe I'm playing Devil's Advocate on this a bit, but there's a lot of truth. The Governor of Ohio, who is aHillary supporter, said that Iowa needs to be replaced by a more representative state - one that isn't 95% white, with more hispanics than blacks. He took a lot of flack for saying it, but he's probably right. Am I off here? Is it more important to continue a tradition?

Let me see, that's 8% that give un rodentum annum, and 92% that are still engaged in a deep digital sinus massage phase... from Iowa, they'll probably eat it too.

Suffice it to say there are precincts that exactly mirror or model national trends and for winnowing the second and thrid stringers that are folding, Iowa is useful, though NOT a kingmaker as Katon would pitch SC.

The OH Gov, IMHO was posturing for the Hilary loses and comes in no better than third or with a lower percentage than Ron Paul.
