Erection 2008: Does America Heart Huckabee?

Another Day, another candidate........ Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, best known for his extreme weight loss during his term, announced he too will enter the fold. I can't say i know a ton about him, even though I met him at the Charleston County GOP Convention last year. I was busy politicking for myself, and I missed his whole speech.

I know Earl wrote a lengthy piece about Huckabee's lack of ability to turn his GOP office into a GOP state House or Senate. Go to the Blogland for details, or Earl can drop the poop in comments. All I will say on that point is that being able to drag a few extra House and Senate seats is pretty important. Maybe Mark Sanford should be running.

Like always, this is an open forum, so any input on Huckabee and his chances will be welcome........

Almost Forgot....... My Super Bowl Pick Is.......

Boy, the last 10 days went by fast. The big game will be here at last, this past weekend absolutely stunk with no football.......... It's gonna be a long spring and summer.

Anyway, onto the big game. Aside from the beer and all those $2.6 million commercials, there will be a game Sunday, and who's gonna take it? Peyton and the Colts in a walk? I'm not so sure.

Super Bowls are usually wild free for all's, because it's such a showcase that half the guys get distracted and make mistakes...... and who capitalizes on mistakes the most? The Bears D and Special Teams. Peyton Manning is still making mistakes more than he needs to, and I can see the Bears scoring a TD or two that way alone. On offense, the Bears will hide Rex Grossman enough by running, and running and running. Remember, until the playoffs, the Colts running D was more like a turnstile or a matador. Ole'...........

Anytime Manning is playing, it will be interesting enough to be close. Last year's game was pretty dull. I'd expect an interesting game this time around. Thi reminds me of the 2001 Super Bowl, where my Giants came in an overwhelming favorite over a Ravens team with a great defense, but an iffy QB. 34-7 Ravens. Give the Colts an extra 17 points for having Peyton, instead of Kerry Collins. Bears 34-24.

SC6 Future News: 2011, The Iraq War Ends.......

(Rooters) Baghdad: Today, the nearly decade old war of sectarian violence in Iraq ended. The end came about when radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr beat a six year old Sunni boy in the UN-created game "Iraq, Paper, Scissors". As per the rules of the game, the Sunni boy was summarily executed after losing, thus leaving Al-Sadr as the only living person left in Iraq. While details of how Al-Sadr made it to the finals are sketchy, apparently the boy had been hiding under a table in Ramadi, when he was found by Hans Blix, who still was searching for chemical weapons.

Reaction in America was seen as a victory for the President. "When I took office , I promised Americans that we would pull out, I mean redeploy our troops out of Iraq, and that peace would come to the country in my Administration - and it has." Said President Hillary Clinton. In 2009, Clinton and Secretary of Defense Jack Murtha removed troops from the war torn country, and with the assistance of UN Ambassador George Clooney, the "Iraq , Paper, Scissors" game was developed by the UN Security Council.

Al-Sadr was not concillatory in victory. "I told you all to listen to me.... Don't mess with Muqtada, baby! Hey, that kid was tough. For someone who just was pulled out from under a table, and thrown right into the game, he did pretty well, but I'd been practicing IPS for a while, so there was no denying me.... Allah akbar!".

America's future with the new Iraq seems to be off to a good, in not tenuous start. "Al-Sadr seems a bit intolerant of women, he's a bit conservative religiously, and I'm not sure of his views on our "Small World, One World" philosophy, but what choice do we have?" Said House Speaker and Democrat Kingpin Nancy Pelosi was quoted.

Al-Sadr was less enthusiastic. "Those two broads can stop by, but only if they're gonna cook and clean my place up, and they better cover those ugly pusses with a birkha - eecchhh!!"

Words of Wisdom From My Sister, Part II

Confucius also say he who go to bed with itchy heiney , later wake up with smelly finger............

Is it just me, or does Confucius look more like Mr. Magoo? Well, my sister Martha still is passing me words of wisdom from her buddies. This one's not as angry as the last one - or as long........At least it doesn't have the old "dance like no one is watching" hooey....

ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

FOUR. When you say, "I love you," mean it.

FIVE. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye.

SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.

EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.

NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.

TEN.. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.

TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.

THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"

FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk. FIFTEEN. Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.

SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson

SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: R espect for self; Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.

EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice. TWENTY-ONE. Spend some time alone.

Twenty-two.... Confucius say it is good for boy to meet girl in park, but better for boy to park meat in girl..

Erection 2008: Hunter is Dunkin His Wick in the Presidential Pie....Okay, I'm Running Out of Euphimisms!!!

Congressman Duncan Hines.......

I mean Congressman Duncan Hunter will give it a shot at the Presidency. Problem is no Congressman has made it to the White House since 1896..........

So, his numbers might look like these little guys....

But, our hope is that Hunter stays consistent on the issues, lest he be called one of these.........

Josh Gross, join the party here, and give us the lowdown on Duncan Hunter.........

Manifesto of the Morons: When Leaders With No Restraint Try to Make Themselves the Victims....

The one good thing about being named Ed Robinson - when someone Googles your name, 50 million other Ed Robinson's show up first. So, no pics of Ed here. Now , onto the post...

Everyone knows that we here at SC6 don't like when people in power make themselves out to be something they're not, and Florence City Councilman Ed Robinson is a master at it. Poor Ed seems to try to use the media for his own purposes, then when he gets thrown in jail for various reasons, who does he blame? The media. Katon Dawson's always says "Cindi Scoppe is not your friend", meaning don't try to get buddy-buddy with the media, because part of doing their job is objectivity, which might include putting you down on occasion.

Ed had been arrested twice: once for attempted assault, and once for interferring with a police officer (a constituent called him when her son was stopped for playing music too loud in his car - thanks, lady!). Last month, Robinson was stopped for driving without a license, and the police booked him. Now, in Florence, Ed Robinson getting arrested is a bit like Britney or Lindsay getting drunk on Sunset Blvd. Old news , right? Well, it's not at that point yet. It was on all the media outlets, but the news this time was how quickly he was let out, and by who. It seems that he got out the same night by Judge Cheveron Scott - his former attorney. Red flags went up everywhere. This caused Scott and Robinson to put out their "Manifesto to the Media" in the Community Times, the local AA paper.

Their main beef was the appearance that Robinson had preferrential treatment, and that it wasn't news in the first place. " I believe it is fair to say that if this were not Councilman Robinson, we would not be discussing this right now. (WBTW's) actions serve as a chilling reminder that there different standards that individuals within our society continue to have." Translation? Black politicians and citizens are treated worse than whites. While this may be a great sound byte to sell to voters come election time, there isn't much truth to it. Let's give an honest assessment, and I think I have a special perspective on this topic.

First thing, the last time I heard the term "Manifesto" was from the Unabomber. Find another term, Manifesto cheapens the document you are writing. Now as far as the Scott/Robinson preferential treatment scenario, I have no idea, so I'll leave it at that. Maybe it was , maybe it wasn't , so whatever it is, it is. But, this has nothing to do with the fact that in thi day and age, a politician who ends up in jail is going to end up on the 6:00 news. Trust me, I KNOW.

This summer, I had a spat with my Dad, and I knocked a beer bottle out of his hand. Well, being the loving parent he is, Dad called the cops, and told them I tried to strangle him. Nice. I told the cop the truth, and the next thing I know, I'm spending 12 hours at the County lockup for MY bond hearing. My first thought in the cell? Now I know how Ed Robinson feels.... No bullshit on that. It took about 5 days, but eventually the news made the TV, newspaper and radio. Later, when I was found innocent by a judge, it didn't make the TV, newspapers and radio. Talking with my handlers during the campaign, we decided to let it die quietly, an attribute that Robinson hasn't found yet.

The other attribute that Ed needs to work on: introspection and self-improvement. When you've ended up in the slammer twice, you might want to take a step back and see how a change of behavior would cause these things to not happen again. Mine was easy, move away from my Dad. Robinson's is easy too: don't drive if you've lost your license!!

Scott and Robinson may have done the bond correctly, but they are dead wrong if they want the public to think Robinson has a different set of rules just for him. Ask me, ask Wallace Scarborough, ask Thad Viers. It's the price you pay for being in the public eye. You live by the media, you die by the media...............

#!%&#@&^* !!!! Channel 13 Demotes Weatherman Legend Don Luehrs ??

" I don't know who this Gregg Johnson is, and I don't care. This weatherman better find a cure for cancer, or invent a longer lasting light bulb or something. Truth is, I wouldn't trade 10 Gregg Johnsons for one Don Luehrs."

Tom Hanks from Saving Private Ryan, paraphrased.

Change is not always a good thing. Sometimes people leave, and a great new person takes his place. That could have been the way at Channel 13, when Dave Williams moved onto greener pastures in Charleston. They could have found a new young guy or lady to take his place doing the morning weather. But the geniuses at WBTW-TV decided it was an opportune time to shake things up.

It looks as though Don Luehrs, who has been on Channel 13 since the Lincoln Administration, has been relegated to morning weatherman, and the new Chief Meteorologist is Gregg Johnson, who comes from Oklahoma City. Nothing against Gregg Johnson, but from the looks of the announcement on this week's news, it wasn't exactly what Don Luehrs requested. The poor guy was almost exploding out of his chair!

Now, Don is not perfect. He doesn't have any catch phrases, or scream the weather at you, he doesn't look like Frankenstein (Ed Piotrowski at TV 15 comes to mind), and Don does have a little trouble saying the word "cooler" - it comes out more like "coo-er". But hey, that is Don's charm. He's just an ordinary nice guy. He's a regular Joe doing the weather, and that's the point: it's just the freakin' weather, people!!!!

We don't care who is the 'Most Accurate' , "AMA Certified" or "USDA Grade A" weatherman. Everyone just watches the Weather Channel, and uses them for their forecasts anyway..... Trying to "reinvent" local news is a waste of time. This is Florence - rarely does anything big happen here, and most newsworthy events are covered up or whitewashed by who might look bad , or who might be offended. Changing weathermen is pointless. If the new guy would only come if he got the Chief Weatherman job, then they hired the wrong man. I doubt that this guy is going to commit to working in Florence for the next 25 or 30 years, like Don has. In my view, Channel 13 has made a major misstep.

WE WANT DON !!!!

You Can't Win Them All... RED Loses It's Case vs. Wal-Mart...

Jeffries Creek in Florence, and a Wal-Mart that will dump stormwater into it.

Here's a good tip for everyone........ Don't get too high from winning, and don't get too low from losing. Although I had two big wins earlier this week, my happiness was tempered when I learned that the State Supreme Court decided against Responsible Economic Development in their lawsuit versus Wal-Mart's proposed superstore across from West Florence High.

I've been on the Board of RED for the past 3 years. I wouldn't consider myself a key member of the team compared to the others, but I've been there, and I want to just tell you how hard the Board has worked, and the good that has come from it.

Carolyn Jebaily and Peggy Brown have been there from Day One, and the amount of free time they have given up to do what they felt was right is staggering. In fact, one of them ended up divorced in part due to it. While people think we were anti-WalMart, the fact is that we were protecting the Creek and the kids who go to school across the road. We had alternate sites, but there was just too much money being thrown around for anyone to listen or budge. Most people would just throw in the towel, but we fought it out, and now we've had our day in court to allow a decision to be made on an issue that was never brought in court at the State level.

More importantly, we have changed the town we live in. The County Planning Commission no longer has real estate agents and developers on it, greenlighting any project that came up. If a city or county official has a question on any related issue, they instinctively call Carolyn or Peggy! Other state conservation groups that get scared by an issue invariably call RED to stick it's neck out in it's defense. We are far more than just Wal-Mart, and no doubt RED will still be around to do what is right - and to tick off all the right people!

Carolyn, Peggy, Sara, Rachell, Tom, Walter and Janet..... YOU GUTS ROCK !

There's a Reason for Everything..... Even Stupid Stuff.

" Things don't just happen. everything happens for a reason"

- Klaus Beaudalaire in "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events".

Some things just pop out at you one day, and you wonder what the heck someone was thinking when they did something - and we're not talking about my first marriage. I've been looking at these two trucks on the Used Car lot at my dealership for a week now. Notice the one on the left is $6994, and the one on the right is $6993. Naturally, you might ask, "What is different on the left truck that they might make it $1 more?"

Yes, I know one is a Ford and the other a Chevy, but why not make them the same price, and have a sign saying "Pick One at $6995"? So, I went to the General Manager to find out what the deal was, and of course, there is a reason........

It turns out the trucks would be the same price, but the last number on the price indicates how long the vehicle has been on the lot. They break the group of cars into "buckets", so the Ford is bucket 4, and the Chevy is bucket 3. So now they can tell the car that has been sitting on the lot forever, and they can tell which one to give a deal on and.......... ah, bucket!! There's a reason for everything!

Erection 2008: John Kerry Just Doesn't Have the Balls to Run Again......

Poor , Poor John Kerry..... It's just getting to be too strong a field for 2008. Instead of Kucinich , Sharpton, Moseley-Braun and Dean, Old John would have had to face Clinton, Obama, and an Edwards not starting from Ground Zero. At least he had enough sense to realize this - I hope Al Gore has the same sense...

So, no flip-flopping or vague descriptions of "what I would have done", Kerry's going to sit on the sideline with his pom-poms and cheer on another. So, the only pic I have today is an oldie , but a goody..............

I can never get enough of this picture........

Does Your Astrological Sign Tell if You're a Bad Driver?? You Bet!

On MSN today, there was an article on a study that determined that insurance companies can more accurately judge a person's driving habits by their astrological sign. On average, Aries and Aquarius' are more likely to have accidents, because they are more self-centered and "me first" as the article says.... Guess what? They're right.

To have proof of this , one need look no further than our own friend, Bobby. Yes, Bobbo is an Aries, and he drives like a lunatic. Speed limits in his world are just an advisory, and the posted limit should usually should have a 1 in front of it in his mind. He hasn't hit anything lately, but if you see a White Camry with Penn State stuff all over.........MOVE !! Come to think of it, my sister in Florida in an Aries, and she's pretty damn bad at driving too. That study may have more going for it than I thought.....

Colts vs. Bears.... Does Peyton Finally Win, or Is It Super Bowl Shuffle II ?

Anybody notice, I went 2-0 this weekend?? Ok, I got lucky... well, who's going to take the big game? Put your picks here......

Major Blog Announcement: To Go Where No Blog Has Before..... SC6 Goes International This Spring !!!

Yes, boys and girls ( if any of you read this mess of a blog), SC6 has a special treat in store for everyone this year. We're gonna get off our butts, make like Moye Graham and travel somewhere other than the Old Jimmy Carter's in Pee Dee for a thickburger........SC6 Goes International !!!!

In May, I will have my own game of Where in the World is Carmen San Diego??, and I'll keep you up to date with my travels. Strange locales, exotic food, crook taxi drivers and new friends I don't understand - you'll see it all right with me! Considering the furthest I've ever gone is Houston (once), this is a colossal undertaking - I'm stocking up on Dramamine already!

Now, who's paying for the plane ticket???????

A Few New Years Words of Wisdom from My Sister.....

I got this e-mail from my sister, Martha. I'm not sure who wrote it, but it's a nice change of pace from politics... Enjoy her New Year, New Rules......

New Rule: Stop giving me that pop-up ad for classmates.com! There's a reason you don't talk to people for 25 years. Because you don't particularly like them! Besides, I already know what the captain of the football team is doing these days -- mowing my lawn.

New Rule: Don't eat anything that's served to you out a window unless you're a seagull. People are acting all shocked that a human finger was found in a bowl of Wendy's chili. Hey, it cost less than a dollar. What did you expect it to contain? Lobster?

New Rule: Stop saying that teenage boys who have sex with their hot, blonde teachers are permanently damaged. I have a better description for these kids: "Lucky bastards."

New Rule: If you need to shave and you still collect baseball cards, you're a dope. If you're a kid, the cards are keepsakes of your idols. If you're a grown man, they're pictures of men.

New Rule: Ladies, leave your eyebrows alone. Here's how much men care about your eyebrows: Do you have two of them? Okay, we're done.

New Rule: There's no such thing as flavored water. There's a whole aisle of this crap at the supermarket, water, but without that watery taste. Sorry, but flavored water is called a soft drink. You want flavored water? Pour some scotch over ice and let it melt. That's your flavored water.

New Rule: Stop screwing with old people. Target is introducing a redesigned pill bottle that's square, with a bigger label. And the top is now the bottom. And by the time grandpa figures out how to open it, his ass will be in the morgue. Congratulations, Target, you just solved the Social Security crisis .

New Rule: The more complicated the Starbucks order, the bigger the asshole. If you walk into a Starbucks and order a "decaf grande, half-soy, half-low fat, iced vanilla, double-shot, gingerbread cappuccino, extra dry, light ice, with one Sweet-n'-Low, and one NutraSweet," ooh, you're a huge asshole.

New Rule: I'm not the cashier! By the time I look up from sliding my card, entering my PIN number, pressing "Enter," verifying the amount, deciding, no, I don't want cash back, and pressing "Enter" again, the kid who is supposed to be ringing me up is standing there eating my Almond Joy.

New Rule: Just because your tattoo has Chinese characters in it doesn't make you spiritual. It's right above the crack of your ass. And it translates to "beef with broccoli." The last time you did anything spiritual, you were praying to God you weren't pregnant. You're not spiritual. You're just high.

New Rule: Competitive eating isn't a sport. It's one of the seven deadly sins. ESPN recently televised the U.S. Open of Competitive Eating, because watching those athletes at the poker table was just too damned exciting. What's next, competitive farting? Oh wait. They're already doing that. It's called "The Howard Stern Show."

New Rule: I don't need a bigger mega M&Ms. If I'm extra hungry for M&Ms, I'll go nuts and eat two.

New Rule: If you're going to insist on making movies based on crappy, old television shows, then you have to give everyone in the Cineplex a remote so we can see what's playing on the other screens. Let's remember the reason something was a television show in the first place is that the idea wasn't good enough to be a movie.

New Rule: No more gift registries. You know, it used to be just for weddings. Now it's for babies and new homes and graduations from rehab. Picking out the stuff you want and having other people buy it for you isn't gift giving, it's the white people version of looting.

New Rule: And this one is long overdue: No more bathroom attendants. After I zip up, some guy is offering me a towel and a mint like I just had sex with George Michael. I can't even tell if he's supposed to be there, or just some freak with a fetish. I don't want to be on your web cam, dude. I just want to wash my hands.

New Rule: When I ask how old your toddler is, I don't need to hear "27 months." "He's two" will do just fine. He's not a cheese. And I didn't really care in the first place.

New Rule: If you ever hope to be a credible adult and want a job that pays better than minimum wage, then for God's sake don't pierce or tattoo every available piece of flesh. If so, then plan your future around saying, "Do you want fries with that?"

Now you know , it runs in the family!

Chalk Up Two Big Wins for SC6 and all the Little Guys............

DHEC Denies DOT Permit for Lake Marion Bridge, and DOT Commissioner Hardee Resigns his Illegal Position on the State Board...

During my Fantastic Voyage in politics the last 3 years, I made a lot of powerful allies, but in all honesty, I am a little fish in a big, big pond. Like a salmon, I feel that I oftentimes am swimming upstream without fins or flippers. All I can do is point out the wrong that I see, but I am powerless to do anything about it. Well, this week, I got two pieces of news that have put a spring in my step, and made me feel that all the work was not wasted....

The state DHEC board denied to issue a permit to the DOT for the DeLaine-Briggs-Pearson Connector, the $100-150 million boondoggle of Whipmaster Jim Clyburn. This is absolutely needed by the DOT to build the bridge, and initial indicators are that the DOT will not seek another permit. DOT Chairman Tee Hooper said, "My gut feeling is that we will let the decision stand. Our funds are limited, and with all the environmental questions, this project just doesn't make sense." Tee, you are a smart man.

Like the politician he is, Clyburn refused to admit the Fat Lady has sung. "This is part of the process every road and bridge project must undergo before it receives approval,” Clyburn said in a statement. “We must wait for it to play out in all of these government jurisdictions before any declaration can be made on the connector’s future.” My guess is that Sly Cly tries to exert some pressure on the DOT to revamp it's permit, but he'll quietly let it die once the DOT refuses.

Right on top of this, John Hardee has resigned his position on the DOT Board, after the state Supreme Court ruled that his staying on the Board past one term is illegal. This will clear up a lot of future flack on Hugh Leatherman. I couldn't fathom him trying to get DOT contract bids for the $378 Million they will hand out for road projects with his own Son-in-Law on the board. I'm sure he has enough buddies there, he didn't need to have family on there. I'm sure he has a frat brother somewhere that he can appoint.

So, I'll try not to gloat, but as far as politics go, I have had the Best Week Ever !!

Erection 2008: Bill Richardson is In, But He Makes Too Much Sense to Win.

Another day, another candidate. Today, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson entered the race for the White House. He had an extensive interview on This Week with George Stephanopoulos, a fellow Clinton team member. The interview gave you the impression that he has spent a lot of time in all aspects of government: UN Ambassador, Energy Secretary, and Governor. These facts are not lost on Richardson - the word experience were used over and over again.

A Democrat who has enough sense to cut taxes tells me two things. First, that he has some grasp of Economic Theory, and the positive that lower taxes have. Secondly, it tells me that the man has NO CHANCE of winning the nomination from the Democrats.

Forget about the fact that Richardson is Mexican-American, and that he's not the sexiest looking guy......... The man cut taxes, and he has an A rating from the NRA, which does not go over well with liberals. In short, the man makes way too much sense to be elected in either side for a kook election year like 2008 is shaping up to be.

Thanks for playing, Bill. There will be a year's supply of Turtle Wax as a parting gift..... Next up, Al Gore ????????

Super Bowl Halftime Switch: Prince is Out, The Democrats are In !!

Pelosi is seen here, singing a solo from the Broadway play, "Annie", and Prince is uh......... whatever.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello announced a major change in the Super Bowl Halftime Show in February. Apparently, they have decided to drop Prince and insert the Democratic House leadership. "Nothing against Prince - he's a star, but the Super Bowl is the biggest event there is, and it deserves the biggest star, and right now, they're it!", said Aiello. 'Nancy Pelosi is everywhere, and I saw Jim Clyburn on Rock Star: Jim Clyburn, and that guy is magic. We had to make the change."

Word is that Pelosi will sing Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Were Made for Walking", where she will stomp on a pile of Republicans, and Clyburn will once again do his version of "When a Man Loves an Earmark" - his recent take on the Percy Sledge classic. Steny Hoyer is expected to do a Jay-Z medley, but insiders said that it is waiting on Pelosi's approval. It sucks being Number 2.

Although he has been slighted, Prince is taking it all in stride... "It's no big deal, baby. I'm gonna go back to Paisley Park, hang out with Charlie Murphy, play basketball all night, and then make pancakes for breakfast." Prince will miss being at the big game. "The last time I was at the Super Bowl, I had a private box, and it was just me, Sheila E, Carmen Electra and a jar of Skippy Creamy Peanut Butter........ YYYEEEOOWWWW!!!!!".

Despite the tepid entertainment expected, Network officials are taking nothing for granted. "Last time, we had Janet Jackson, so we want this one to go smooth", said CBS Chair Les Moonves. The hope is that we don't see anything like this...........

" MY EYES !!!!! MY EYES !!!!!!!!!"

Erection 2008: Hillary Throws Her Junk in with the Big Boys..........

I woke up this morning, and I was wondering when Hillary Clinton would enter the race.... Well, I got my answer today. This was the most anti-climactic announcement since Ellen told us she was gay.

However, there was one part of her announcement that made me shake my head - it was pre-recorded. If anything shows the calculated, packaged image of Hillary, that was it. Don't have a press conference, don't get challenged by questions - just put it on tape, like the Merry Christmas message. She tried to make it like a personal message to America, asking questions on it, using terms like "You know what I mean?"........ Uh, talking to people who aren't there is a sign of schizophrenia, isn't it? Then again, so is writing a blog.........

The big question is, can the most polarizing figure in the race, pull it off? We'll find out.

Cavuto on Business: This Show Kicks Booty !!

I don't get to watch it everyday, but I was watching Cavuto on Business today, and they had a great discussion on taxes, Social Security, Federal Spending, the Alternative Minimum Tax Congress' non-reaction to falling oil prices and Wal-Mart.

It's great for a panel show to show the relationship between multiple issues, and to try and take the politics out of them - most of the time. If you have no idea what these issues are, and need a Cliff-notes style show to brush up on them, watch Cavuto on Business. It's entertaining, informative, and unlike most panel shows, the panelists don't talk over each other.

Erection 2008: Barack Hussein Obama Sticks His Green Thumb Into the Presidential Pie ..

"America's Next First Couple?"

Now, before we anoint Obama as the next President, I have some questions. Namely, what has he done to be considered a front runner? Two years as a junior Senator, with no committee chairs or major legislation to his credit. Well, we hear the answer is that his lack of tenure is a credit - that he's an outsider. No thanks , but i'd be more confident of Obama if he had a little more leadership under his belt.

I read an article that references Obama with another junior Senator: John F. Kennedy. It seems that Barack has the gravitas that makes the women swoon, and might get the other half that skips elections to the polls. Maybe.

I don't think Obama has the best timing on this, but I suppose he sees an open door, and perhaps another one closing. The Democrats have a great shot at winning the presidency in 2008, and Obama knows that 2012 will be the incumbent's 2nd run, so what to do then? Wait until 2016? That is forever in politics, and he's taking his shot at it now.

So, what about Hillary now? She thought this was her race to lose, and now she has a candidate that has all the intangibles she lacks for the Democratic base running against her. My guess is that it will get a bit nasty between the two of them in the next year. No one likes to get cut in line, especially in politics. It just got fun - I was worried Joe Biden would win and we'd have 2004 all over again....
