SC6 on the Road.. National Committeeman Candidate Glenn McCall and House Seat 64 Candidate Britton Pruett !!

Meet the Candidates: Britton Pruett, Glenn McCall & His Wife, Linda...

It's late on Friday, and I'm here at Moye's secret inner sanctum - Graham Slough at Wyboo on Lake Marion. It's a pretty cool cabin, with all the amenities (even wireless internet !), and more liquor than your local ABC Store. I'd give you the location, but I'm sworn to secrecy under the penalty of death. I"ll have pics tomorrow after the sun comes up....

On to business.. We here at SC6 had the exclusive access to a meeting with National Committeman candidate Glenn McCall tonight at The Palms Restaurant in Wyboo. It was a pretty informal event - dinner, lots of chit-chat, and Glenn spoke for just a few minutes. It was nice to have a candidate speak and not ramble on for 2 hours. All you other candidates take notice !!

It was the first time I got to really speak to McCall, and I found him to be a very easygoing and moral guy. He has a strong business background, he's a county chair, so he's familiar with the local workings of the GOP, and he's done a lot of charity work and counseling. See, we Republicans are not just a bunch of rich haters.

A lot has been made of Glenn being an African-American, and how it might help the GOP in the Palmetto State if he were in this post, but I don't think of it that way. We worry about the future of the GOP and African-Americans, but in time, it will come around. Though some may disagree ( because they profit financially or politically from people being kept down), African-Americans have made a lot of progress in the last few decades. Think about it - how many black bank Vice-Presidents were there forty years ago? As they progress, they will start to focus more on their overtaxed paychecks that they work so hard for, and they will come to the GOP, because we care more than those other guys.

I don't vote for candidates based on their skin pigment, and neither should you. I vote for them based on their policies and character, and Glenn went a long way towards getting my vote today. You better hurry - the convention is only three weeks away....

Here's some pics....

Eight Things We Men Do That Women Hate..

And Apparently, 92 More That I Don't Know.........
Men drive women crazy - literally! But, some things we do drive them up the wall worse than others. I found a list of the Big Eight, and these are pretty accurate, so i thought I'd share them with you.
From sloppiness, to porn, to our inability to commit clearly, she's got it here. Check it out, and give your opinions....
.
.

Attention Hillary and Barack... You Can Buy a Superdelegate's Vote for a Mere $20 Million....

Just like most people in politics, there is a guy in California who wants to sell his vote at the Democratic Convention. And you won't believe why.......
I knew all along the reason the supedelegates aren't committing - most of whom are Congressmen and Senators - are because they want to secure some type of favor of project from the one they endorse. Quid Pro Quo all the way , baby...
Well, there is a delegate in the Golden State that is willing to sell his vote for $20 Million bucks, all so he can use the money to register Mexicans to vote in California. If this isn't the dumbest idea I've ever heard, it's close.
This is a total waste of money. Whether all the Mexicans are registered or not, California will undoubtedly go the way of the Democrats, and all 50+ of their electoral votes will go with them. What good will adding an extra 100,000 Mexicans do for Obama or Clinton? Absolutely nothing.
Fortunately, neither camp or the DNC has shown any interest in this guy's offer, but it does give you an idea of the crookedness and lack of ethics that many of these superdelegates have in the Democratic camp. Shame on you, dude.

Would You Vote Lindsay Lohan's Mother "Mom of the Year"?

Local Charity Group Pays for Naming Lohan a 'Top Mom'.....
There's a furor going on in Long Island, where a local women's charity is taking a lot of flack for honoring the mom of Grease Fire Lindsay Lohan.....
Mingling Moms, a charity group that raises money for Breast Cancer research, is getting tons of hate mail for naming Dina Lohan a 'Top Mom'. Considering that Mom has spent the past decade trying to be her daughter's bubby instead of her parent, one can't criticize the criticism. Just because your kid has made millions as a teen idol and movie star doesn't make you a great mother. Having that same kid end up in rehab twice before she's even of legal drinking age definitely doesn't merit the honor.
As dumb an idea as the honor was, it looks like the poor charity group is going to pay financially for it's mistake. Unhappy people make bad donors - I should know. It would be sad to see years of good deeds go down the tubes for one error in judgement. In this case, no harm, no foul. Here's the link.....

Post Number 1100: Hillary Is Finished, But Obama Shouldn't Ask Her to Quit..

Bill Will Have to Keep Daydreaming About the White House.......

It's not official, but Barack Obama has pretty much slammed the door shut on Hillary Clinton. Obama is a mere 180 delegates short of the nomination, while Clinton is 345 short of winning. The percentage that Hillary would have to win by is impossible. Hillary should just quit, right? If I were Barack Obama, I would stay away from this prospect......

Obama will be the nominee. I said it after South Carolina, and i was right. Let's face it, I'm actually pretty good at this stuff. Anyway, here is why Obama will be better off having to spend money to keep running this campaign out into June. This has been one of the toughest and most contensious campaigns ever. Not only for the candidates and the campaigns, but for the voters - and some of them are pretty upset.

Most of the polls are showing that if their candidate doesn't win, they will vote for John McCain - about 20% of Obama voters, and up to 33% of Clinton voters. Right now, losing is tough enough. Quitting will really tick off Clinton fans, and this will in the end hurt Obama. Obama needs to win the nomination not ASAP at this point, but to win it as capriciously as possible. Clinton voters will see the writing on the wall soon enough by running the string out, Obama does not need to be the one pushing the Kill Switch. It will only hurt him in November.

Yes, Hillary for President is dead. However, if she wants to play for another month to hope a miracle occurs - like Obama getting caught cheating on his wife, or him personally saying 'God Damn America' - then let her have her swan song. Pushing her out will do Obama no good. Meanwhile, John McCain skips merrily along..........

Where's My F***in' Money ??? Time to Send Out the 'Goodfellas' Crew After Congress ....

Joe Pesci Will Break Bush's or Pelosi's Legs for $500.... It's a Fact.
You can always count on Washington DC to screw up. Count on it. It's May 6th, and I'm still waiting to get my rebate from the Federal Goverment. Maybe, since I said that they shouldn't be giving them out in the first place, the decided to skip me. Well, it's time to break out the Big Guns.....
Here's a YouTube clip from Goodfellas that I think applies pretty well with my attitude with Washington and their excuses. I don't condone burning DC down, but I am down with the "F.U., Pay Me" part.....
.

Time for Someone to Check In....If Possible.

I know,I know. No good can come from this. But maybe it can. I wrote about three months ago, where I said i was giving up on Ms. X, but I was actually full of crap. I was trying to decoy someone away from here, so that Ms. X might be able to at least keep in touch a bit, without retribution. Uh, that didn't happen...
She's been focusing on doing well at school, which is the right thing. Well, class is over for the summer, and over the last few months, I figured something out - I really like Ms. X for who she is, not what she looks like. Secondly, getting in the way of two people doesn't work, so to force myself in there would not do me ANY good. I short, I miss being friends, and I decided to throw the Buddy Flag up here, just to see how she is doing. I thought going two weeks without seeing her was tough. Well, not knowing if she is dead or alive for five months really strikes home.
Ok, Ms. X. Time to drop a little note to let know you're alive. Miss ya, Princess!

Thanks for Your Concern, PETA. Now Go Away....

Time for a not so politically correct post. A lot of the fun was taken out of this Saturday's Kentucky Derby, when Eight Belles, who finished second, had to be put down after breaking both of her front ankles AFTER crossing the finish line.

I'll try to tread lightly here. Horse racing has been around for hundreds of years. It is a worldwide sport, and as beautiful a game as it is, there is a terribly real part of it - horses get hurt racing, and some have to be put to sleep. My dad worked for the NY Racing Association, home of the Belmont Stakes, for 34 years. He was on the track when Ruffian - the greatest filly who ever raced - broke her ankle in a match race in 1977. These things happen, and no one wants it to happen - they just do. Horses, whether on the track or in the field, are made to run, but they have a design flaw that put stress on their hoofs and ankles, and they break, whether running on the track or in the field.

I respect that people like PETA don't approve of horse racing for the danger to the horses, but I get very pissed off when they attack the jockeys for doing their job, and when people lie to make a point. The poor kid riding that horse was in more danger than the horse was when her ankles broke. Almost as many jockeys die every year as horses do, and I guarantee that the kid is more upset than you guys are. Everyone involved are emotionally atttached to the horses the ride, saddle, train or own. There are a few people much more unhappy than you are over this poor horse's death than you. To lie and say that he continued to ride her hard before the race was over was incorrect and a low blow.

As far as whipping a horse, it doesn't hurt the horse. Horse's skin is like leather, it only gets their attention - it doesn't injure them. Why do something that would hurt a horse? It makes no sense.

I don't expect PETA to be very analytical about any issue they get involved in. But when you're wrong, you're wrong. No one liked to see a horse be put down, but it's part of racing,a nd it's part of life. Barbaro was in agony for eight months when the doctors decided to try and overcome nature, but as usual, they lost. Such is life....

Forget About N. Carolina and Indiana.... Obama Wins Guam - It's All Over , Baby !!!

It's a Lot Smaller Than It Looks On a Map ......
We're one day away from the primaries in Nort Carolina and Indiana, but it's all anticlimactic now that the Guam Primary is over. Obama won Guam, and as Guam goes, so goes America.....
Pack it up , Hillary - it's all over now.

Greetings From Isle of Palms !

So That's Why People Pay $3M to Live Here...

This weekend was a blur... I drove back to Flotown Friday - thank God, there were no accidents this time. After laundry duty Fridat night, I got up early Saturday and cut grass and dropped fertilizer for about 5 hours, then I drove to Isle of Palms to hang out with Bobby and Jean's family at the beach. It turns out that they were already downtown in Charleston, so off I went....

I made it in time for dinner at T-Bonz on Market St. , and after a little window shopping, we made it back for Jean's birthday cake. Then bed - or so I thought. I'm used to sleeping on a couch, so a pull out sofa looked good. Unfortunately, the bars were a little hard, so I slept sideways. In the next room, the kids were asleep, and one of them can't sleep without a TV or DVD on. On it, they had an Alvin & the Chipmunks DVD looped over & over & over on a Hip-Hop song. I was going to turn the volume own, but I had no idea how, and I didn't want to wake the kids up and scare them, so I decided to just go upstairs and sleep on the couch. Needless to say, i was less than my usual chipper self the next morning...

I had a good time anyway, but others might not be able to tell I did. It was nice just to get out for a day. Here's some pics....

Crashing a wedding at St. Phillips.......

Having fun with utensils and condiments....

Cade hitting the birthday cake....

Late night at Poogan's Porch...

High Tide at nearby Sullivan's Island..

How to Tell You're Living in 2008...

I'm going to IOP and Chucktown today, so I'll do an easy post today. It's a list of examples to show how life has changed in just the last few years.....
YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2008 when...

1. You accidentally enter your PIN on the microwave.

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of three.

4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.

6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.

7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen

8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't even have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.

10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.

11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )

12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.

Putting My Two Cents In on the Two Cent Hospitality Tax By County Council...

The are times when you see things on TV, and you literally want to jump through the screen and choke somebody on the other end. Such is the case tonight. I'm watching Channel 13 News, and Florence County Council is taking a third reading on passing a two cent increase in the sales tax .
For those of you keeping track , the sales tax used to be 6%, and if this tax is added, it would make taxes in Florence about 10%, and in Lake City, it would go to about 14%. Welcome to Communist Florence, folks. This is getting out of hand.
I hate just about any tax increase, but this one is really gnawing at me for two reasons. First, the hospitality tax is total bullshit. Yes, I said bullshit. B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T !! It was started locally by that local genius Mayor Willis in the city a few years back, and now Rusty Smith, who we all locally know that his dad robbed the county for thousands of dollars years ago, is trying to do the same thing. The hospitality tax is supposed to be used to attract visitors to come to the area from across the country, but it ends up being a slush fund for the local government.
Smith's plan is to swindle money from visitors and local residents buying in the county, then to take that money to make a personal wish list for his home district. What is in Lake City that needs visitors? That stupid Bean Museum, of course. I'll be fair, some people like to visit the Nan Ya Plastics plant too.
I suppose the other reason I'm pissed at this is I see Al Bradley sitting in that seat that I could have been. I see myself in that seat, making every news report in the area, as I voice my outrage at this wreckless fleecing of my constituents. I didn't see that tonight from him, or anyone . I don't think Bradley has the guts to put his foot down and tell Smith to go screw himself like I would have. It would have been fun...
Since I'm not there (or in Florence much for that matter), I'll put a little pressure on my almost cohorts. Morris Anderson, Ken Ard, James Scofield and especially Dean Fowler, I ask you guys to protest this perversion of local government gone insane, and vote this crap down. You are our only hope. Find SOMEONE on the other side of that aisle to join in and give the people of Florence County a break.

Clyburn Lets the Cat Out of the Bag: His Daughter WILL Be Your Next Congresswoman...

Ha, Ha !! You Thought You'd Have a Choice When Jim Retires ........
I thought I had nothing to write about today..... but Jim always gives us something to chat about here. I came across a clip of Clyburn on MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' with Joe Scarborough, and old Jim gave us a doozy of a comment.
They were interviewing him about the Jeremiah Wright - Barack Obama rift, and right off the bat, Jim talks about the progress he has made in his life, and how things need to continue to allow his daughter Mignon to 'take it to the next level'. Now , for those of you who don't get the translation there, we'll spell it out for you. Your next Congressperson will be Clyburn's daughter - you have NO CHOICE.
In case you're unfamiliar with his daughter, here's a brief synapsis of her accomplishments: she graduated college, tried to run a magazine that her daddy bankrolled, before it ultimately failed. then daddy got her a gig on the Public Service Commission at $77,000 annually for an essentially part-time job. Now, she's going to be your next congresswoman. Like we said - you have no choice - it is already bought and ready for shipping.
Like many congressional districts, the child or spouse of the former Congressman takes over, whether they're qualified or not. Clearly, Mignon Clyburn is not qualified to serve in Congress. She has not successfully worked in the real world, and would not be seriously considered for the job if her name were not Clyburn. But she does have her Dad's notorious taste for power.
There is no doubt that this scenario playing out would devastate the 6th District. This reminds me of something that I see in the car business all the time: The Idiot Son/Daughter who takes over the dealership. Dad works hard, is creative, and manages to build a successful business over the course of a few decades - the Junior comes along, takes over, and runs the store into the ground in two years. But they were the most qualified, right? After all, Hunior worked in the parts department in between frat parties while at State.... It's all the same, but instead, you will be stuck with someone in DC who will clearly be in over their head.
To quote the Maitre'd in 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off', "I Weep for the Future". Here's the whole clip.

SC6 Marks Holocaust Rememberance Day.

Yeah, They're Right.... It Never Happened.
My calendar at work lists some of the oddest holidays I've ever seen. Did you know that today is Labor Day in Mexico? Yes, Labor Day in Mexico IS a contradiction, but I digress. Today is also Holocaust Rememberance Day, where we take a moment to think about the past, and to take a minute to think about the same things going on today.
Much as we might like to think that genocide ended in Germany in 1945, we all know better. Bosnia, Sunni/Shia and Darfur, the list of one group's attempt to systematically eliminate another continues on. Only by diligently watching the world will we ever keep this type of crime limited. Are we the world's policeman? No. But, there is plenty we can do to fight the good fight in the future.
By doing so, hopefully we can truly say "Never Again" and be right........

Do A Little Dance, Make A Little Love, Get Down Tonight... Take the 1970's Music Quiz.

I kinda shot my wad last week with all of the political investigative work. Work has been pretty hectic, and there hasn't been anything in politics that really got me going lately. Jeremiah Wright again??? No thanks, I'll take a break....
Feeling like listening to some 'classic' music, and taking a test? Well, we have just what floats your boat !! My sister sent me this link to the 1970's Music Quiz. I took it and I got a 90 - i'm still protesting the two wrong answers... It's not all disco - there's some folk music , but NO LED ZEPPELIN or PINK FLOYD !! Not fair. What were these guys doing back then??

This Is How Far America Has Fallen Behind...

Need proof that America is doomed in the future? Look no further.... Here is a clip I got from Tom, everyone's Best Friend at MySpace. It's a kid singing that Beatles classic 'Hey Jude'.
What's the big deal? Well for starters, he's still in diapers, so he's no more than 3 years old. the other problem? HE'S FRIGGIN' KOREAN !!! He's a toddler that sings songs in a foreign language with no accent !! In America, we don't even try to teach kids a new language until they're 12 or 13 - when they don't care anymore....
It's pretty funny and cute, but when you take a second to think about it, it gives you the feeling that America may have already seen it's best days....
.

The Curse of Reino Strikes Again !!!

What Does Roger Clemens' Downfall Have to Do With My Dog? More Than You Might Think ......
I have some bad juju , my friends... If I were you guys, I'd avoid me like the plague. Why? Because everything that is associated with me, even on a secondary level, is cursed. Need proof? Right after I got hired by a Roy Rogers restaurant, Roy died. I bought my first Les Paul guitar, then Les died a week later. Then there's Roger Clemens......
If you've been reading SC6 for awhile, you've met my dog, Rocket. How did I get the name? Well, Bobby got his brother at the same time, and he named his dog Ripken, after Cal Ripken - probably the greatest ambassador has ever had. So, I thought I'd name him after a baseball player too. Being a Yankee fan, it had to be a Yankee. So I decided on Rocket. It had the same letter as Ripken, it sounded cool, and he was a Yankee. At the time , Clemens' reputation was pretty spotless - he was a surefire Hall of Famer, and he seemed happily married back then. Keep in mind, this was only a year ago.
Almost immediately after gettign Rocket, Clemens' world started to fall apart. Steroids, testifying before Congress, looking bad on 60 Minutes, not getting resigned, and now details of a decade long affair with singer Mindy McCready , and McCready is not denying a word of it. Roger is definitely up Shit Creek folks - and it may be all my fault.
If would have named my dog Jeter, a National Enquirer article on Derek would probably have come out that he was a gay terrorist - and that he corked his bat. I'm going to re-name Rocket to save face for him. From now on, call him Hillary Obama....

Recognize This 'American Hero' ?

When I got back to Hilton Head Sunday night, I found this doll on the coffee table. I couldn't recognize who it was, but the tag read 'American Hero'.... After a few minutes, I figured out who it was - John Kerry !!
Yep. Kerry, or as my brother Matt referred to him as "that guy who ran for President", got abused a little back in 2004 for his Swift Boat episode, and part of it was a doll. Lil Kerry even has a button that plays Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" when pressed.
Four years ago, he was goin gto be the answer to America's prayers - now most can't even remember his name. How quickly they forget.............

SC6's Hidden Pleasure: Jamie, the Hudson Nissan Girl.

What exactly am I talking about with hidden pleasures? It's something not everyone gets to take advantage of, and one that you might not tell your friends about. Well, I'll share this one with you. Say hi to Jamie Simpson, the Hudson Nissan Girl...

I first saw her when Matt got cable TV, and I could start watching Channel 5 in Charleston again. Hudson Nissan used to be Northside Nissan, and Jamie does the ads for them. I'm not positive, but I think she's from the Upstate originally. Like most people from SC, she's made it to the big time... She's now in Atlanta, where she is on TBS' Movie and a Makeover, and she even has her own marketing company - smart girl. Before you get too excited, let me burst your bubble..... she's married. Dammit !

What makes Jamie so cool? Aside from her obvious sexiness, she's a little goofy. She delivers the commercials with a little giggliness - you swear she;s almost gonna start laughing during the ads. But, it does make her a bit more believeable. After all, this IS just a car dealership - it's not life and death. Don't tell my bosses I said that. I get to see Jamie every morning, right before I go to work, and I seem to be more chipper when I get there. It's that combo of cuteness and aloofness that i find almost irresistable, and honestly, she reminds me a lot of someone I miss alot - that other Southern Princess, Ms. X.

If you want to use Jamie or any of her spokespeople, stop by her website, http://www.jamiesimpsonmarketing.com/

here is a YouTube clip I found of here for a dealer in Nowhere, Ohio.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qzLipCjhgs

Here's a couple more shameless pics of Jamie.....
