It's Friday the 13th - And Again, And Again...

I'm sure if you know this, but 2009 will not one, not two, but THREE Friday the 13th's !! This year IS damned !!! Today is the first, and sinc eit is not a leap year, March will be as well. Then again in November, Friday the 13th comes one last time...
While most of spend the day avoiding black cats, breaking glass, walking under ladders and being slaughtered at Summer Camp by Jason Voorhees , it really isn't a big deal. That doesn't stop some people. My best friend growing up had his father pass away on Friday the 13th (he had cancer), and his mom wouldn't let him go out or to class until he was about 17.
At work, we assign a tag number to each car to keep track of the keys. What number came up on the tags today? 666 ! Of course, there was a zero in front of it, but my boss still made me tear that number up... Where does the superstition with the Number 13 come from? No one knows for sure, but it did help make at least nine movies now....Here is an article with different Friday the 13th facts..

Tuition Free College ??? SC6 Puts You in Touch With Eight Places To Learn Without Spending $40k a Year.

Higher Education....Without The High Price Tag !!

I loved college !! I tell you, it was the best five years of my life. Don't laugh at me, it took five years because I kept transferring.. As great as it was, there is one part that always sucked - paying for it.

I got off easy. I busted my ass every Summer, and I ended up only owing $5000 when I graduated. Going to state school helps. Now, if you were lucky, you earned some scholarships to help pay for it. But, most people are not that fortunate. So, what's a poor student to do? Go to a school with NO TUITION...

I know what you're saying.. You're saying, "Reino, you've flipped your lid ! All colleges have to charge tuition. How else do they get paid?" Well, the facts are that there ARE colleges that don't charge for tuition. How? Well, most of them are private, and they were founded as part of a foundation, where the point was to create school that poorer kids can get a great education.

Maybe it's too late for some of us, but I'm sure there are some of you who have brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews or even kids ready to head off to college. So, if I can save you $40,000 a year, I've been a pretty good buddy, haven't I? You can send some of that money to me. My student loans may be paid off, but I have other bills, you know. Thanks to Mental Floss for the list...

Which Is Worse: Beating Your Girlfriend, Or Giving Your Man Herpes?

Chris Brown and Rihanna In Happier Times....
Here's a story to give you an idea of just how quickly and out of whack rumors can get. We all know that Chris Brown and Rihanna got in a big fight the day before the Grammys this week, and that Brown beta the crap out of Rihanna pretty badly. Reports are that he choked he until she was unconscious, and then he ran off.
The first thing people usually want to know is how things like this happen. What caused such a blowout. That's when word of mouth gets out of control.. I was at work yesterday, and one of the guys I work with tells me that heard that Brown beat up Rihanna because she gave him herpes... And I almost believed it until I actually looked the story up!
Now, the real story appears to be that Brown got a text from a girl, who was trying to hook up with him later that night, and Rihanna got pissed off, and tossed the keys to Brown's rented Lamborghini into the street. Brown couldn't find the keys, and he went off.. Now, I looked it up, but most people don't - and this is what some of them believe...
Is this story true? Who knows, but it doesn't sound like it. Even if it was, you don't choke a girl or hit her for any reason. That's what Valtrex is for...

Happy 200th Birthday, Abe !

Yes, it was 200 years ago today that Abraham Lincoln, president during our country's most challenging period ever, was born. Hey, I thought today was the worst period in our country's history?? Anyway, I know I'm in South Carolina, so not everyone has reverence for Lincoln. But he did keep the country together, which in the long run as best for America. Here's some intersting tidbits about Lincoln from the SC6 info search...
Lincoln had wooden teeth...
He invented baseball, and hit .375 his rookie year...
He recorded 24 #1 hits....
Lincoln's Gettysburg Address played backwards is actually Celine Dion's 'My Heart Will Go On."
He was one heck of a Salsa dancer...
Chuck Norris wears Abe Lincoln pajamas....
I might need to recheck these facts. Anyway, here's soem real facts about our 16th President..

The Florence GOP Finally Gets Back In Gear

No, That's Not Me Under the Elephant....

Three months after getting our asses kicked in the November elections, the Florence GOP finally got together and began to prepare for life with Obama. It was a marathon meeting, about 2 1/2 hours long, with way too much people talking, and not enough preparation.

The first problem Monday was that while we couldn't get a guest speaker for years, we got two that night: Attorney General Henry McMaster and GOP Chairman candidate Kevin Hall. Both spoke, not for too long, and they answered questions, but it was at the wrong time. Why? Because this was the night we were here to discuss precinct reorganization. Getting that straight takes long enough, but by the time they and the county chair were done, most of us were getting a bit tired, and I'm including political professionals here. One of them even asked me if I thought about running for the Chairman job. No way....

First things first. For starters, in case you were wondering, both McMaster and Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer are running for Governor in 2010. It's a lock for both of them. I'm sure there will be others, but the two of them will be the most organized, and the front runners from the GOP.

The tow biggest things I got from the meeting are how scared everyone is of the economic stimulus bill being passed, and the realization of the locals that they got their asses kicked in November. We like to think that because John McCain beat Barack Obama here, and that Jim Clyburn never wins Florence County, that we are a Republican county. That's a bit delusional. The reason we win those races is because there is a swath of the City of Florence, particularly in West Florence, that is about 90% GOP. The rest of Florence County is probably 70% Democrat. We get killed everytime, and the laconic attitude that we had got us bad in November. Some of us got the message.

It's about time, but I really would like to see the leadership give up some of the reins a bit. I would like to see the dead wood get chopped off, and some new people take over. Not by the same old people that ran it 30 years ago, but some new meat. Someone like me - but more motivated.

Precinct reorganization is March 14th, County reorganization is April 11th, and the Big Show in Columbia is May 15th. I plan on being at all of them, and I hope I stay focused enough to not let anyone talk me into taking any job in the party. I like just writing from my bully pulpit...

Foxy Video Gives Clubs a Bad Name..

This Is Why Some Guys Have the Wrong Idea About Strip Clubs...

Another local club went down this week, and for good reason. Foxy Video and Strip Club was shut down by the police, and two employees were arrested. What for? Prostitution. Apparently, one of the dancers tried to make a little extra cash for more than a lap dance. Herein lies the problem.....

You all know that I enjoy an occasional trip to the Nudie Bar. However, there are rules you should always abide by to have a enjoyable, yet sensible trip. Rule Number One is NEVER expect to get sex from the ladies there. It is a job. Sleeping with customer is not a priority. Almost all people in the business understand this. But every once in a while, someone loses their minds, and decides to break the rules.

What effect does this have? It gives guys the impression that they can do anything they want with the girls in the club, and take them home afterwards. Good Luck. Only at shithole clubs like Foxy do they pull stuff like this. Now they're shut down, at least for now. Good...

Ever hear the expression 'don't expect too much and you'll never be let down" ? That is a great way to get ready for going to the club. Too many guys get riled up there, and a club that encourages that is only asking for trouble. It's another example of people trying to take the short route to money...

Hooray for Stump !!

No, Rocket Didn't Win Again...
Congrats to Stump, a ten year old Sussex Spaniel who came out of retirement after nearly dying a while back, and won Best In Show at the Westminster Dog Show. He doesn't look like a particularly special dog to me, but what the heck do I know.. All I know about spaniels is if you yell at them in the house, they piss on the floor immediately..
Gotta run to practice, so here is my favorite clip from the dog that should have won - my favorite Insult Comic Dog..... I KEEEEEED !

$789 Billion, Do I Hear $789 Billion ??? SOLD !!

The House and Senate Reconcile Their Bills, Wait On Obama to Sign

OK, it's all official now. The House and Senate leadership have hammered out a final version of the economic stimulus package, with a final tally of $798 Billion. Hey , at least they kept it from starting with a T, right?

I've been pretty steady on what i think needs to be done. This package could have easily been made at half of this total. I just heard Sen. Susan Collins call spending $798 Billion being 'fiscally responsible'.... Yikes ! At the local GOP meeting, the amount of concern by most people with the passing of this bill was palpable. Many Republicans are convinced that we have just signed America's death warrant. I'm not as negative, but I do think we just spent way more money than we should have.

What say you? Is this the right thing, or is the the Beginning of The End?

Hey You, Cover That Ass Up At The Beach, Or You Are In BIG TROUBLE !!!!

Thay Tho Long To The Thong In Myrtle Beach....

This week, a couple of new laws came into existence here in South Carolina. You are probably aware of the new 'Sober or Slammer' laws that started today. There has been plenty of TV advertising spent on promoting the tougher fines and sentences for DUI this month. However, there is another law just enacted in Myrtle Beach that will dampen any guys joy of going to the beach...

Next time you go to the beach, you better be careful what you wear, because bathing suits that show too much booty will be outlawed. Yep, you better make sure that your banana hammock or thong doesn't leave nothing to the imagination, or you will be fined, arrested or executed.... Well, maybe not executed.

What the hell is going on in Myrtle Beach. First, they run off all of the bikers, now they're trying to dress everyone up at the beach like it's Coney Island in the 1930's... Sure, local leaders want to project a family friendly environment, but this is all getting a bit out of control. No doubt that businesses on the Grand Strand are already missing the bikers who spent thousands of dollars each down here already. Now, they're going after the younger crowd too. Not that MB was ever a hot spot for the Spring Break crowd, but you can wipe that out forever.

What's next? Geting rid of all the golfers because they end up at Derriere's after 18 holes. It looks like they've already hired a guy for the job. He's had his Baby Ruth, and ready to destroy...

Yeah, Gimme a Quart of 2% Milk..And a Dimebag.

This Guy Even Looks Kinda High, Doesn't He ?

Hey, you know why people call me The Milkman. It's because I'm fucking your mother !!!! Sorry, but that's one of my favorite stupid jokes. I've been at Horne's Restaurant for three hours, at the first Florence County GOP meeting. Since precinct reorganization is coming up, all of the fair weather Republicans are coming out of the woodwork to keep their seats to the State Convention in May. But I'll chat about that tomorrow (teaser)...

Since I'll be going to bed in about ten minutes, I only have time for a quick post. It's another one of those posts involving my second favorite topic that I don't do - smoking pot. My favorite thing that i don't do is Sex....

A 72 year old milkman in Burnely, England was arrested recently for running a little side business out of his milk truck - supplying cannabis to elderly customers who were complaining of aches and pains. Robert Holding would receive notes left on his customers doorsteps, requesting some herb along with their skim milk. I'd like to know if it were in some kind of code, but the MSNBC.com article doesn't say. Hey, how about some details, fellas ???

Burnely pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to a 36 month suspended sentence, so if he's a good boy, he'll stay out of jail. Personally, i think if he hired P-Luv, our boy could have pulled out some precedent from the Feudal System that would have gotten him free, with a personal apology from the cops - but that's just my guess...

Hey, what do you get when you milkman gets stoned? Something like this.... any excuse to play it!

SC6 Introduces 'What Song Was Playing When Your Parents Made You'. Enter If You Dare !!

Turn Out the Lights.... Take Your Clothes Off, Baby....

No, we're not your average political blog. That's because the captain off the ship has a compass that's a bit off-kilter.. But it does allow us to have posts that other wouldn't think of...or at least print online. It's a gift...

If there's one thing no one wants to know, it's ANY of the details of when their parents did the nasty on the night they were conceived. As far as I know, I wasn't conceived - I was sent down from Klapthor 9 in a Gazmotron Space Pod, whcih crashed into a house in Bay Shore, New York. You weren't so lucky. Your parents had sex, and chances are, it was to some REALLY GOOFY music.

That's where we come in. Thanks to the additonal funding we just got from the upcoming economic stimulus package, we were able to complete out most ambitous project yet - our SC6 Conception Day Music Supercomputer (CDMS) !!!

It's easy. Simply give us your date of birth. We do all the work for you. We take that DOB, adjust it to determine your date of conception, and enter all the info into the SC6 CDMS .... In a mere 12-14 months, out pops the surefire song that was playing when Mom & Pop were exchanging zygotes and other stuff that I have no knowledge of...

I know some of you can't wait to know the results, so I've already gotten your answer. Sorry Moye, i have no idea what your birthdate is. West Rhino, I already know that your DOB is classified information. Here's for a few others of you...

Me

DOC 10/1967... Flower Power is sweeping the country! While it's possible that MOM & Dad were playing Procol Harum's 'Whiter Shade of Pale', this is a more likely pick.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM0bQ45zwH8&feature=related

Bobby

DOC 7/1968. The Year That Changed America. I just popped out, but Bob's Mom & Pop were just getting started... 'Sitting on the Dock of the Bay' was a huge hit, but the CDMS says this was the song..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVn3T-UzgcI&feature=related

Earl
DOC 5/1970. Music takes a nasty turn towards Acid Rock and Heavy Metal. While I know Earl swears that he was conceived to the strains of Black Sabbath, this one is a direct match on his DOC. The Number One song that week.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkqfpkTTy2w&feature=related

Rick
DOC. 7/1983. Heavy Metal makes a comeback, but Michael Jackson, Def Leppard and this band rule the airwaves. It's a bit ironic, because this is the only song by this band he actually likes. It all makes sense now.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHzLWLFTPPI&feature=related

Ms. X
DOC 12/1983. MJ is starting to decline a bit, Metal is still going strong, but there is a new genre to contend with - The Boy Band. Some people say that fetuses can't hear anything inside the womb, but I think this debunks that theory once and for all. The CDMS really hit the nail on the head on this one.. Who knew?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFtLONl4cNc

There, now you all know - even if you didn't want to !! Sleep well....

The Stimulus Battle Goes On....And On.

Obama Might Need These to 'Kick' Congress in the Ass...
The US Senate is often referred to as 'The Place Where Good Legislation Goes to Die'. That's because they like to tinker with the bills that the House of Representatives sends them. Sometimes they do mess things up, but soemtimes they are the body that brings at least a modicum of restraint to Washington DC. That was evident this week, with the economic stimulus bill.
We've been saying it for a while here, and most voters agree, that the stimulus bill, while it has many decent and potenially effective qualities, has some things on it that needed to be cut - and the Senate is doing it. While chopping off $130 billion seems like a daunting task, the facts are that these are not cuts, they are lower spending increases, so if you hear someone anywhere whine about taking food out of someone's mouth, don't believe it. It is only giving less of an increase. But, overall, it has been interesting watching this all happen, and we have a couple observations.
Barack Obama Messed Up
Yep, the man is human. Even I mess up sometime. Here is where he f'd up... First, the extra week the Senate has taken is not ruining America. I think the light speed with which DC blew the first $700 billion in TARP money without pinpointing HOW Wall Street should spend the money showed that time sved turns into money wasted. Hey, I like that... I sound like Ben Franklin.
Secondly, he adopted the Dems crappy rationalization this week that because he and the Dems were elected, that they gave them the green light to go ape shit and start spending in dollar amounts that start with 'T'... No matter whether you win by 12 or 200 electoral votes, America never has a mandate in it's elections, and they expect some sensibility. 'America voted me in, and this is what they want' doesn't cut it. They didn't expect this kind of spending. Obama has done a good job of trying for bi-partisan support, and he will get his bill passed. Patience, Barry...
Who Loses?
Well, the obvious loser in the long term are the voters, or more likely, their kids and grandkids, for they will have to pay this back eventually, but that's a no-brainer. The big losers in the short term are the states - and they should be. Like South Carolina, the state budgets have skyrocketed in the last few years. Double digit budget increases for 4 or 5 years in a row are a recipe for disaster, and it finally came. How the hell can California have a $44 BILLION dollar deficit? I'm afraid to even look at the bullshit in that state's budget.
Spending Vs. Tax Cuts
Here is the big debate. Which works better? Well, it depends on what you're shooting for. The Republicans want to cut taxes, the Democrats want to spend money. While I am not a big fan of Keynesian Economics, which is all they teach you in college by the way, a targeted project that puts people to work immediately works faster than an incremental tax cut. But.....
Here are the facts. Most of these changes will take a long time to have ay effect at all, and the economy likely will recover on it's own by the time it hits. Some of you seem to have trouble grasping the tax cut theory, so here it is - in simple microeconomic terms that should make sense....
Most of us Americans live paycheck to paycheck, and that is our fault. When we lose a job, for every month that we are out of work, it takes 3-4 months to make up for that loss. My personal example? It took me 18 months to get back to where I was for a 4 month stretch with no income. But, the key engine in America's economy is still and will always be the American consumer. That is why the mortgage crisis was the true cause of this recession. An extra $200-400 month on a crappy mortgage ruins households. They can be repaired, and most of them are, but it takes time. Try as we might, there will NEVER be a quick repair to an economic downturn. We are an impatient, fix-it-now nation, and DC's attempt to fix anything within a month or two will not work. It takes time....
For real, long-term economic sustainable growth, Americans need to have money to spend in their bank accounts. To do that, they need to have less taxes taken out, and to be able to obtain a REASONABLE amount of credit to buy a home and one credit card without getting fucked in the ass financially. Financial recovery is a slow, tedious, painstaking process, but eventually, it happens. Americans budgets have had a big whammy hit on them this year, but cutting taxes eventually does work it's way towards a good economy.
Like most issues, both the Democrats and Republicans have good points, and Congress does need to take it's time to put together a solid plan to fix America, but no matter what, don't expect any miracles in 2009. It takes time.. Patience, America.....

What Do The Great Communicator and The Rasta Man Have In Common? Find Out Here...

They Both Smoked Herb and Listened to Reggae Music...NAH !!!!!
No, the correct answer is not that they're both dead either....In fact , it's the exact opposite. They were both born on the same day - February 6th. Reagan was born in 1911, Marley in 1945. Thanks to Bob Juback for the info. No, he's not a buddy of mine, I heard it on the radio Friday.....
Now, I personally believe that people born on the same dates have certain similar personality traits. No, I have no data to back it up - I'm a Republican, I don't base my beliefs of solid statistical facts. ;) But, when you consider that I share the same birthday as OJ Simpson, Courtney Love and Tom Hanks, there does appear to be a thread of credibility. But what about Reagan and Marley ???
I submit to you that February 6th has some significance. While Reagan and Marley seem like exact polar opposites, there is one major similarity between them, one that Earl would find interesting - communication. Whether you are an actor, musician or President, there is one common piece - you have to be a great communicator. While your words don't always need to be specific (like Reagan), or even discernible (like Marley), being able to convey your message and opinion is a gift, and they both had it...
Yeah, maybe they're not both hanging out in Heaven as best buddies, but I bet they had a neat conversation for a little while....

What You Read Says A Lot About You...

'This Month's Issue of 'Letters to Penthouse Is FASCINATING !!!!'

Thought I'd pass this onto you guys. I got it from a little middle-aged lady in Clarendon County. It's a funny generalization of the major newspapers, and why type of person reads them - or doesn't read them. Having lived where a few of them are printed, they're pretty spot-on.

1. The Wall Street Journal is read by the people who run the country.

2. The Washington Post is read by people who think they run the country.

3. The New York Times is read by people who think they should run the country and who are very good at crossword puzzles.

4. USA Today is read by people who think they ought to run the country but don't really understand The New York Times. They do, however, like their statistics shown in pie charts.

5. The Los Angeles Times is read by people who wouldn't mind running the country -- if they could find the time -- and if they didn'thave to leave Southern California to do it.

6. The Boston Globe is read by people whose parents used to run the country.

7. The New York Daily News is read by people who aren't too sure who's running the country and don't really care as long as they can get a seat on the train.

8. The New York Post is read by people who don't care who's running the country as long as they do something really scandalous, preferably while intoxicated.

9. The Miami Herald is read by people who are running anothercountry but need the baseball scores.

10. The San Francisco Chronicle is read by people who aren't sure there is a country . . . or that anyone is running it; but if so, they oppose all that they stand for. There are occasional exceptions if the leaders are handicapped minority feminist atheist dwarfs who also happen to be illegal aliens from any other country or galaxy, provided of course, that they are not Republicans.

11. The National Enquirer is read by people trapped in line at the grocery store.

12. The Atlanta Journal is read by people who have recently caught a fish and need something in which to wrap it.

Frisco Port a Potties - Up In Flames !!!

What We All Need...A Crapper that Does 0-60 in 5.2 Seconds !!

Yes, the streets of San Francisco are under fire - literally. There is an urban terrorist stalking the City by the Bay - and construction workers all over Frisco are getting pissed. Or is it pooped?

According to reports, someone is setting fire to port a potties in town. So far, over 20 of them have been set afire, stinking up the city with flaming poo and pee-pee, and causing over $50,000 in damage.

Setting fire to port a johns has been a long time hobby for pranksters, but this is serial arsonist type of stuff. We had a port a potty by the doorway at work while they were doing construction, and I wished soemone had set it on fire once or twice myself. They smell up the whole area, and when they get emptied, it is the most repulsive stink you can imagine.

Maybe this guy thinks he is doing San Francisco a service, but unfortunately it IS a crime, and we don't support lawlessness around here at SC6. Funny as it is, those construction workers need a place to crap, or else they'll end up having to use your bathroom . And you don't want that going on in your throne.....

America's Business Gets the Hint....

How Much Did Her Company Lose Last Year ?
While the Obama Administration puts the screws to American business by limiting the salaries of those who accept Federal help, there are signs that after numerous cases of banks spending money all willy-nilly after getting billions from taxpayers, some of them are getting the point.
The days of the high lifestyle junkets to Palm Beach and the Super Bowl are slowly coming to an end. Most companies realize that it just plain looks bad to spend that kind of cash when taxpayers are propping up your company from bankruptcy... Wells Fargo, which recently got $25 billion in TARP money, cancelled a 12 day junket to Las Vegas for it's top employees this week. It would be a stretch to tell them congrats, but at least they did the right thing..
But, this week's kudos go to Motorola CFO Paul Liska. In case you haven't noticed, Motorola is going down bigtime. They lost $3.6 Billion in the last quarter alone. So, Liska, who only took over last February, threw himself on the company sword and stepped down and quit. Once again, he couldn't have been doing a great job if thy lost that much cash, but while most of Corporate America's idiot bosses are staying put and collecting golden parachutes, Liska deserves a small kudo for not waiting.

Old People Are Crazy....

No, I mean to intentionally pick on the elderly, but what motivates them and the thoughts that go through their minds make me wonder what is going on with them up there....
You may have heard of the 93 year old man from Michigan who froze to death in his home after the power company cut his heat off, and he didn't ever turn on the limiter... On the surface, it seems like a really cruel story about Big Brother killing an old man, but dig a bit deeper.....
Today, the man's attorney announced that the man's entire estate would be donated to a local area hospital. You heard right - the man was worth over $600,000 dollars !!!! Sorry, but it begs the question - why would a man worth over $600k not pay the $1000 utility bill he owed??? I'm flabbergasted.
We've heard of the occasional story of an old man or woman who lived on the cheap, only for their neighbors to find out that they were worth millions. Yeah, but none of them ever derpived themselves so badly that they died from it.... Any explanations? Am i missing something?

Are the End Times Coming ?

Armageddon? It's Snowed in South Carolina........TWICE !!

It's Wednesday, so it's band practice night. We totally kicked butt last week, so we're shooting for two tight practices in a row - not that it will matter. Why? Because the world is coming to an end....

If you thought that the United States having a black president was a sure sign of the end times, today's weather locked it up. For the second time in two weeks, it snowed here in the Pee Dee. And it looks like everyone around here had a hard time dealing with it.

I'm goin gto sound a lot like Bobby here, but how the hell can there be like 1000 car accidents in town when it only snowed 1/2 inch?? Ya'll need some driving lessons around here. I'd pick on you guys some more, but I gotta jam... And no, i ain't going back up North - you're stuck with me !

Is It Time to Retire This Flag ?

The Porch Flag Has Seen Better Days....

I need you opinion. I took this picture when i got home from work tonight. I've had this flag on the front porch since I moved in a year and a half ago. I think it might be time to get a new one, because this flag is beginning to look a bit ragged...

It's torn both on the top and bottom. I tell most people that I'm a direct descendant of Francis Scott Key, and that this is the original flag from Fort McHenry. Others ask me if I stole this flag from 9/11. Normally, you would just buy a new one, but , being a former Boy Scout, i wonder how I'm supposed to dispose of this properly. More importantly, I have to ask the question: Am I disrespecting America by flying this flag on my house? Time for some input: am i good American, or am I a bad American?

.
