True indeed.. Political parties are often the worst thing about our system, but most have them, so it's a necessary evil, I guess. Each side has their own priorities, which often are of little to no concern to regular citizens. Crap like high-speed rail and social issues matter little to ordinary voters. They want low taxes, security and a few social program to catch them if they need it. They'll usually stay quiet - until one or both sides go too far. I think we're there..
