After the last post, i figured I needed to blog about something we can all agree on. Crappy Drivers... Now, we here in SC are pretty considerate for the most part. Plus, there isn't that much traffic, except for race weekend or a football game. But, go to some other areas in the country, and drivers flat out lose their minds.....
Last year's winner for most aggressive drivers was Miami, but they were beaten this year by - SURPRISE !! - New York. How couldn't they be? No room, too many taxi's, mostly driven by insane foreigners used to screaming at each other.. It's a natural. Miami reall worked on it's image this year, dropping all the way to Number 7, behind Dallas, Detroit, Atlanta, Minneapolis and Washington DC... Most of those make sense, except Minneapolis. Then again, they could be angry because they're in Minnesota......
Want a friendly city? Try Baltimore, Sacramento, Pittsburgh, Portland and Cleveland. No these top and bottom cities don't really correspond to anything geographically. So what ticks off drives the most? Talking on the cellphone while driving, which is illegal in NY, driving too fats, tailgating (Bobby??), Eating and Texting behind the wheel, and - that South Carolina favorite - changing lanes or turning without signaling....
As bad as New York might be, you may want to be most careful in DC, where 4% of all drives surveyed admitted to ramming their vehicle into another car on purpose - a full four times higher than the national average.....

DC beltway traffic was the worst I've ever been in personally. It was a little unnerving to be in a little civic between two big rigs, running about 85, with only about one care length between the cars. I remember thinking, if this rig in front of me slams on brakes, I'll be lucky if they can find the damn car. And that was at 5 am in the damn morning.
Of course any place that needs traffic lights on the damn on ramps is pretty damn busy in my book.
oh, by the way...did you have to post that picture of me beating the crap out of that guy?
Lived in Southern Calif;Atlanta;been to DC a few times. Hands down Atlanta is the worst. I still think the scarist ride in Atlanta the first time I took my son was not found at Six Flags. It was the inbound drive into Atlanta, down 85 under spaghetti junction with its 100 ft high flying overpasses. Down 85 through the heart of Atlanta via expressway at 9pm on a Friday night. Hands down the absolute worst...teg
I've been to Atl and DC, but the worst is NYC. Try going through Brooklyn and Queens on the Belt Pkwy. 70 MPH through twists and turns, ups and down, with NO IDEA what is coming around the corner for about 20 miles...As usual, the insanity ends where Long Island starts on the Cross Island Pkwy.
The problem with NYC is to many yankees(and mets or mutts if you like). Been to NYC and Boston when I was with a different bank. I can see where one might think they are the worst but the nickname for the 285 beltway around Atlanta is the 285Superspeedway. The GA Hwy patrol once ran a operation bluelight to ticket drivers that were excessively speeding. Excessively was described as 90+mph and they still wrote over 140 tickets on a Memorial day weekend and that was only on 285 not 20,85,75,GA400 or GA1, just 285...teg
As someone who has driven in 49 states several continents numerous countries. It is a tie. LA and NYC near the tunnels at rush hour.
Since I have never been to LA, I can't really argue here, so I'll trust Moye's judgement..
BTW, which state has eluded your presence, and when are we all going? I'll take a wild guess and say Hawaii - but I have a feeling you've been there on vacation.. My second guess is S. Dakota..
