Does This Look Like a Romney or Giuliani Sign to You?? It Does to Katon Dawson..........
Sometimes I don't know what our leaders think. Reading an article in The State, I had to wonder aloud what Katon Dawson thinks when he opens his mouth. Someone is planting signs around Columbia like the one above, and others had the SCGOP's phone number on them. Naturally, the State will call them to find out if they know about them.
Of course, SCGOP has nothing to do with it - that is not their style. It should have ended there, but they asked if they had an idea who planted them? Now, the correct answer is :
A: I don't know.
B: The SC Democrats.
C: Osama bin Laden
D: Mitt Romney or Giuliani's people.
If you answered A, you might be more qualified to be the State Party Chair, because Katon (which rhymes with the leader of the Netherworld) said D. Oops!
Now maybe The State asked if it were them specifically, and Dawson just didn't reiterate enough that he doesn't know anything about it. But, I'm not too sure about that, because the State seemed to think that it's an attack against Lindsey Graham, not John McCain - a much more plausible thought than Romney or Giuliani.
Lindsey has taken a lot of flack in SC for his stance on Immigration, but most of the people criticizing him are faceless at this point, so it's pretty likely a gutless idea like this came from one of those people - but I don't know. Like I said, I don't know.........
That's exactly what Katon should have said. Instead, he attacked two REPUBLICAN campaigns in his own state - not bright. While it's true he got the GOP out of a financial hole, most of his other decisions made leave me shaking my head. Saying something this dumb - offending 35-40% of all Republicans - when you're up for re-election next year, re-affirms that Katon Dawson has his own agenda within the SCGOP agenda. That is a dangerous mix that , in time, will lead to SCGOP's ruin.
