See..... Computers Are Our Friends !!
Fiev years ago, when I first got into politics, computers were a luxury. Heck, most of the people I knew were lucky to have e-mail. Blogs? What are they? Facebook and (to a lesser extent, MySpace) were in their infancy. Twitter wasn't even out yet, although I'm not a big fan of it. I need WAY MORE than 150 characters to tell you what I'm doing. I think Zac Efron said it best: "It seems kinda stupid... 'I'm in the bathroom' ...... "I am still in the bathroom, reading a good mag"......'Still here - just ran out of toilet paper." I might like that kid more than I thought......
Those days are long gone. If there was one place the GOP got it's butt kicked, it was in organization. Especially on the local level, there was no communication. Well, the folks at the Florence County GOP are having their first Tech Summit this Saturday. It starts at 830AM, and yours truly and Blogger Extraordinaire Earl Capps will be closing the day at 200PM. OK, mostly Earl....It will be at the First Reliance Learning Center on West Palmetto Street, which is right next to the bank. Lunch will provided for the low cost of $5...
No doubt, whether you know nothing or a lot about the technical aspects of politics, you will learn something that day. I have to meet with a client Saturday to prepare for trial, but if I finish in time, I'm going to try the make the Reino-Capps grand finale. Is there any truth to the rumor that you two will not in fact discuss anything about technology, rather its an excuse for you to unleash your Tenacious D-like, power-guitar rock duo?
If so, can I intro the performance with a D-like "Warning...if you want you asses blown out, stay in the room?"
