NC Police Hunt Down Serial Killer During Break-In ....
The town of Gaffney, and all of South Carolina can now breathe a little easier. Patrick Tracy Burris, 41, who police are certain was the man who terrorized Gaffney for a week by killing five people ranging frfom age 15 to 83, was shot and killed during a break-in at a home in Dallas, NC, in nearby Gastonia County..........
Report say that he appeared intoxicated, and that he was ready to take on the police when caught. With his death, there could be a lot of questions unanswered - why did he go from larceny and other small crimes to serial murder? Why Gaffney, SC? Hopefully for the victims families, they will get those answers, but they got the best possible news they could have at this point - they got him, and he won't hurt anyone else. Thanks to our law enforcement officials for catching Burris.

Mike--between this horrible incident and the Sanford question SC has been in the news too long for too many wrong reasons. Now this criminal has been dealt with and hopefully after last night the Sanford question has been dealt with.
Let us now come together and once again start moving this state forward. Our rallying cry should be don't stop thinking abount tomorrow (not thank goodness for Mississippi/Alabama/Louisana). The future for our grandchildren depends on it...teg
glad they caught him or what ever they did to stop him.
South Carolina isn't doing too well in the publicity department - horny Governor and psycho serial killer.
Earl-hopefully by Friday the only thing people will think of when they think SC is Gamecocks...teg
Lets hope TEG is wrong on this one.
Well, we hear of the ACC pulling their baseball toruney from Myrtle Beach over a flag that is over 100 miles away "for the welfare of the Playaz"... (gotta keep the hinky refs in NC so the fix is in)
As to the late Burris, I get the impression it is less serial killer and more serial burglary with unfortunate vics, that if dead don't send him back to the lock up. Why? Who living (JHVH excluded) knows?
As to the Sanford thing, between the SCDP and (apparently) one candidate, fanning the flames for resignation or impeachment seems to be losing traction outside the Lexington Klan region with McCall's defection.
Is Governor Bauer as scary as President Cheney?
just askin
