This Wasn't the 2nd Black Congressman That Jim Clyburn Was Hoping For In SC...

Like it has been reported for a week or so in the blogosphere, Republican Tim Scott has decided to end his campaign for Lt. Governor in South Carolina, and run for the US House of Representatives in the 1st Congressional District. We've known Tim for about six years now, and he would make a nice addition to the South Carolina delegation in Washington.

This by no means ends any speculation as to who the party nominee will be, but we think Scott would likely be considered a favorite. It's a smart move by Scott, who will find a much easier time running in the Lowcountry (his home area) and the Grand Strand, than statewide, where, honestly and sadly so, some people still have trouble voting for a single, African-American candidate. Besides, we would just LOVE to see Jim Clyburn meet with Tim, and try to show him 'how things are done here' - and let Tim tell The Whipper off......

In related news, this now turns the Lt. Governor's race into a two-horse battle between Ken Ard and Bill Connor. We look forward to the numerous internet comment battles to continue unabated until June...... At least now, the paranoia may be justified !

here...you'll like this one. North Charleston's version of Ed Robinson. Apparently he thinks he can knock off the current mayor there that just helped bring in Boeing.
