See, we ARE an educational blog sometimes too.... Today, we commemorate the anniversary of one of America's most famous and important symbols in it's history. On this day in 1754, the 'Join or Die' snake drawing first appeared in Ben Franklin's Pennsylvania Gazette. It simply represented the colonies, split into eight sections of a snake. But, it was one of the first unifying pictures of what became the United States - a full 21 years before Lexington and Concord... Later on, it was watered down by P. Diddy's lame 'Vote or Die' 2004 campaign for John Kerry, but we digress......
