Next week, we're going to do our Easter Music Marathon...... To close out this weekend's business, we go to our Chicks & Pianos Department for one of our favorite semi-obscure bands, the Sundays.
Featuring the married duo of vocalist Harriett Wheeler and guitarist David Gavurin, the Sundays were a very small semi-acoustic band that put out good msuic, but didn't seem to be able to avoid problems with their record company - mainly, their label went broke. But between Gavurin's writing and Wheeler's so-feminine you get aroused just hearing it voice, they kept at it. In 1997, they added some more depth and tracking, and 'Summertime' became their biggest hit - then Wheeler and Gavurin quit to raise their kids... Dammit!
Yeah, it's not going to make Headbanger's Ball anytime soon, but I spent enough time in SC to know that I like girls who sound like women, not truck drivers.... Here's the clip of 'Summertime'. Enjoy your week, and we'll be back soon.....
