Brett Favre Is No Longer a Packer...
Okay, maybe Jet Favre isn't as witty as Bread Durst, but it's still not too bad. After a month of drama, Brett Favre went home to Mississippi, and was promptly traded to the New York Jets for a 4th round draft pick, which could become a 1st round if the Jets have a good year. What the criteria is I don't know, but 8-8 is considered a banner year by Jets fan standards.
No doubt the Jets will be happy that they got a veteran QB with a rocket arm, something they haven't had in a long time. I don't see the Packers getting very far with Aaron Rodgers this year, but they'll be okay. I kinda laugh when I hear the Packers brass say that they have a better chance to get to the Super Bowl with Rodgers than with Favre. After all, Favre did get them to overtime of the NFC Championship game - about as close to the Super Bowl as you can get, without getting there.
So, who's fault is all this? Like most things , there is fault on both sides. If Farve had any doubts, he should have stayed in the Packers' plan. However, the Packers did treat him like a journeyman QB, instead of perhaps the best player in Green Bay history. The guy deserved a lot better than to have to beg to come back. Now, the cord is cut. I don't exactly see Favre as a New York kinda guy, but part of me thinks he'll really like it there.

I like my JETS
the New York Bretts
Brett was just starting to have fun again as QB. If he inspires the Jets enough, giving him time to pass, even the Jets recievers are going to enjoy some BIG yards after catch numbers.
The Jets line is supposed to be good this year, so a switch back to the 10-6 of 2006 could happen.
