Hey, what were you doing 20 years ago? Personally, I think I had just found out that I wasn't going to attend Hofstra University's prestigious School of Accounting program , due to financial aid problems. But hey, who wants to be a CPA in Manhattan anyway? John McCain was midway through his first term in the Senate - Joe Biden was on his third. And Barack Obama was helping inner-city kids and downtrodden steel workers get help, while Tony Rezko financed his first mortgage. My accuracy may be a bit fuzzy on that one.....
But where was Sarah Palin, the Great Mystery Candidate of 2008 back then? Working for KTUU-TV in Anchorage , Alaska !! Just 24 at the time, Palin (then Sarah Heath) was the sports anchor. In this clip, there are some classic 80's TV moments - Tommy Lasorda was still managing, the studio and editing were TERRIBLE, she definitely has the Northwest Territory accent , and my favorite - the Islanders were still in the NHL's old Patrick Division ... Now known as the 'Atlantic" - ZZZZZZZZ !!!
