History was made yesterday in Baltimore - and I missed it. Rachel Alexandra beat 12 colts to become the first filly to win the Preakness Stakes since 1924. From what I saw, it looked like a great race, and it has injected a little excitement into a great but dying sport....
Next comes the Belmont Stakes, at the track my dad worked at for 34 years. Can Rachel Alexandra find the strength to go the extra 3/8 of a mile, will Mine That Bird make up that 3/4 length, or will another horse enter the fold? Find out in 3 weeks.....

Mike-Mine that Bird will catch her on the longer Belmont. Like the Derby he can from dead last and almost caught Rachel. Someone really needs to check these two horses a Philly that leads the entire race and a horse that twice comes from dead last to finish 1-2 Don't tell MLB we all know how they are about steroid testing. Though it will mean another year without a Triple Crown winner it does set up a interesting Belmont. I want to see the trifecta on that one...teg
