That Kid Is Gonna be King of the Sandbox Now ...
Here's a good reason why a law should be passed , requiring kids to be strapped into their beds at night. In New Zealand, a woman was recently shopping online on a site called TradeMe, which is pretty much like Ebay. She was looking for toys for her kids, when she went to bed - with the computer still on....
Well, her three year old daughter, Pipi (?) got up, went to the computer, and started playing. And she found a perfect toy - a dump truck. Or at least she thought it was. It turns out that it was a Kobelco Earthmover, and as luck would have it, little Pipi put in the winning bid - at $20,000 New Zealand dollars - about $12,300 American dollars.
Needless to say, Mom was a bit surprised when she got the e-mail, saying "Enjoy the Dump Truck"....Of course, the first thing she did was call TradeMe, and they canceled her purchase, and relisted the earthmover. But man, that Earhtmover would have been pretty cool to have in the playground, don't you think?
Today's moral? Watch your kids, or at least shut the computer off at night. What was the worst unattended kid story you have? Mine was when I was five, and I pulled the emergency brake on the Oldsmobile in the driveway, and it rolled all the way down, and into out neighbors yard. I was so scared, i locked the doors afterwards.
