Which Way Will Democrat Women Go??
A lot has been said this week about Hillary Clinton's new health care and retirement plans. People are wondering about whether it is a ploy, aimed at courting the female vote, a demographic that she has had trouble winning from Braack Obama. My opinion on this. Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, and none of it really matters in 2008......
In this overhyped, overanalyzed political year, everyone is looking for a magic demographic bullet. That is, to find the Soccer Mom or NASCAR Dad of 2008. My advice is to stop looking and just get out there and work it all...
Too much has been made of Hillary Clinton being a woman. If that were an exclusive , Clinton would be over the top already, right. Women are 52% of the voting population - game over.. But, there are a lot of women in the GOP, and not all the Dems are going for Hillary. Barack Obama has courted the female vote well, but he has had trouble getting the African-American politicians to endorse him. Strange days indeed. In short, just because a woman has one, doesn't mean they will vote for one.
Now, will a GOP man vote for a GOP woman? That remains to be seen, but I don't think it's too far off. Condi Rice had a lot of buzz as a VP candidate until earlier this year. She's out now, but there coul be others waiting in the wings. Then we'll see.

The dangerous trap for any Clinton is that, in response to poll numbers and intrest groups, they will eventually be forced to "act butch" and "do something" to exercise military force, like blowing up an Iraqi "Baby Milk factory", a Sudanese asprin plant or a bunch of empty tents in Afghanistan with sub launched cruise missiles, flagging the location of a strategic asset that now no longer is loaded with a deterrent.
Curious also that ABC was pitching the blood relationship of Dick Cheney to Barack Obama (eighth cousins, it seems). I'll guess putative speculations of Strom Thurmond's branch in such a family tree have been quashed by Chelsea's resemblence to Vince Foster and ABC's allegaince to a Clinton dynasty
