It's Just Shopping, People...

No One Should Die Over Shopping......

We've all seen the Black Friday pictures of stupidity. The hundreds of people packed at the door, and then pushing and shoving their way into the stores like cattle, stepping on each other all the way. All over shopping. Well, today, it turned tragic......

At a WalMart in Valley Stream, New York, a 34 yr old temporary maintenance worker was crushed by a crowd of 2000 shoppers at the front door as he opened the doors to the store. The crowd used such for to push their way in that the front door was crushed like an accordion, with the worker underneath... They still were pusing their way through as dozens of WalMart employees tried to rescue him. He died an hour later, and shoppers complained when the store closed for police to investigate.

These things always seem to happen in New York, where everyone views shopping as a full contact sport, along with driving, and other activities that we don't view with such zeal. What possesses people to act this way because a Blue-Ray disc player or a TV is on sale is beyond me. People sometimes lose all traces of reality, and put 2000 of them together, and they turn into a pack of rabid dogs.

The police have the camera videotape of the incident, but with the size of the crowd, and the speed of events, it's doubtful anyone will prosecuted. Is that right ? No. A man is dead for opening a door, and those responsible should be brought to justice in some way. As for the rest of us, my advice is to take your time, avoid the crowds, and play it safe. I care too much about you guys...

Actually, I grew up in Suffolk County, we're a little more relaxed, but not by much..

Vallet Stream is the first town in Nassau County, so you get all the nutjobs from Queens and Brooklyn, where Wally World doesn't exist..

... and the store was only closed for a few hours. Get the slaves back to work so they can continue to feed the addiction of the masses, ya know?
