The Rush to 'Obama' Everything Begins...

Say Hello to Barack Obama Elementary School. I Shit You Not..

Much like when JFK was elected - or more so after he was assassinated - the rush is on to rename everything after Barack Obama. This is the first receipient.. I give you Barack Obama Elementary School in Hempstead, New York. It was formerly named Ludlum Elementary School, but as of this week, it's name was changed. What was the rush? Well, there was a school in nearby Valley Stream, New York that was planning on doing the same thing, so Ludlum beat them to the punch ... IN YOUR FACE, VALLEY STREAM !!!

Yes, both of these schools are on Long Island, so I know the area pretty well. Hempstead is a black majority town, so to have Obama elected was a big personal thing, although I do have to ask the question: What has Obama done to deserve this at this school? Ludlum Elementary was named after a guy who worked for Hempstead schools for over 40 years. The closest Obama came to Ludlum was when he was at Hofstra University for the last debate...

It's simple. Old guys die, and eventually, they are forgotten and replaced by new guys. Who knows, Ludlum might have been been named after Ethan Allen or John Jay before that.... But Obama has caused a real run on renaming shit after him. There are already 466 different application to rename things after him, even before he's served a day in office. Meanwhile, George W. Bush is having a waste treatment plant named after against his will. Tough gig,man..
