SC6 New Music Pick: Neon Trees, 'Animal'

80's Synth-Pop From Mormon Country ???? Who Knew ...

Today, we give you a band that shows that you don't have to go to NY or LA to hit it big.... Hailing from Provo, Utah is Neon Trees. Made up of singer/keyboardist Tyler Glenn, guitarist Chris Allen, bassist Branden Campbell and our newest infatuation - drummer Elaine Bradley. I haven't had a crush on a drummer since Gina Schock of the Go-Go's in the 8th grade. Uhhh, before that it was Neil Peart of Rush.

Like their close friends, The Killers, they're not making anything that hasn't been heard at some time before. It's like classic 80's Synth-Pop, but there's not a lot of that going around, so they fill a nice little niche. It's inoffensive, peppy and fun...and Bradley and Glenn keep up the sexy factor as well. Rock doesn't really need much else, does it. Here is their first clip, called 'Animal' - no, not the Def Leppard or Pearl Jam songs. Enjoy, and we'll see you next week !
