We Kick the Reggae Beat For a Day ....
To conclude our weekend, we try to get you to clap your hands, relax and be positive. Today's music pick is Michael Franti & Spearhead performing 'Say Hey (I Love You)'. It's your standard reggae beat, with acoustic guitar and piano - and that's just about it. But, it's a nice way of showing that you can make a great song without doing too much.
No, Franti is not Jamaican - he's actually from Oakland, and was adopted by a Finnish couple there. Don't ask me how you work out a happy family between Finns, and a German-Irish-Black-Native American boy, but it worked out.. He's no newcomer: he's been in bands since college in the mid-80's, and he's 44 years old. That still gives me hope... Enjoy!
