SC6 New Music Pick: Against Me !

What happens when a punk band loses the 'A' on their Anarchy symbol? First the 'real fans' go crazy and call you a sellout. Then they slash your tires, have protests at your shows and trash your merchandise tables... Such is the case with Against Me! , a Gainesville, Florida band that will is releasing their second major-label album this week, after toiling away with the independent labels (re: no money) for nearly a decade.
The first song "I Was a Teenage Anarchist" does deserve some of the criticism. It's not punk at all... We thought it was kind of Pop-y , but it's a good song nonetheless. We think it fits in well with the political environment right now. With all the Tea Partiers and left fringe groups all trying the 'start a revolution', 'Anarchist' seems fitting. The line that hits the most is 'do you remember when you were young and you wanted to set the world on fire?' For anyone over 30 that hasn't done that, it's truth... We'll be posting our Final Odds for the Primary tonight, so looks for it Monday morning....
