SC6 Is Kickin' It Old School In Sumter at the Braden Bunch Show ....

Braden's Guests Tonight.... SCFYR Chair Britton Pruett, Musical Guest Theory of a Deadman, and ME !!!!

Sorry gang, I missed my usual 900 PM deadline, but I was in Sumter tonight, for the local GOP Monthly Meeting. It had been so long since I had shown my face there, that I kinda felt a bit guilty, but it was a great meeting.

I'm telling you, if you want to be entertained while discussing politics, go attend a meetign in Sumter, and watch Braden Bunch. It felt like I was at a taping of a talk show. Braden is relaxed , fun, interesting, and just aloof enough to really make the time fly by. He used to write for the Sumter Item, so you know that not being able to give an opinion was probably pretty tough. No doubt, he's letting it fly a bit more, but without having it all be about him, which many Chairmen seem to do.

Sumter couldn't have picked a better Chair. As much fun as Braden is, I discovered his best quality during his time on Mark Sanford's staff, and his time with the Giuliani campaign. Everytime Braden needs your help, he feel like you are doing him a big favor, not like you should be honored to work for him. He is truly a class act, and if you don't get to work with him, you are missing out on a privilege. Hopefully, this will make up for the picture that pops up when you Google his name - all thanks to me.....

I only ended up taking two pictures tonight. I got a pair off, then I was suddenly was beaten senseless by a couple people who thought I was from a rival hotel. Those innkeepers don't mess around...

A Pair of Chairs, where's the end table? Britton Pruett and Tommy Grimes discuss Planetary Domination, and the Salisbury Steak for dinner. Britton will be doing her first interview here soon - once I finally pick the questions !!
Aside from the rabbit I ran over on Hwy 76 in Mayesville, the night was pretty great. And speaking of the musical act ??

Mike--I just wanted to add that it was great to be back in the Gamecock city of Sumter. Braden is doing a great job over in Sumter and has a fantastic group to work with over there.
Also, congratulations to Britton Pruett on her election as SCFYR chairperson or as she likes to be called Madam Chair. The SCFYR has elected someone that I believe will help build a great grassroots organization for the SC GOP but more importantly for the future of all of SC.
Once again thanks to the Sumter GOP for having Mike and me over. Also a special thanks to Mike who seems to have inherited the job as Rochester. I hope we will get to see more of the concerned citizens of SC at future GOP meetings across the district and around the state...Tom Grimes SC6 District Chairman.

You should interview Britton at her bar gig. I can sip liquor drinks at the Tater Creek Bar & Grill while you go all Mike Wallace, then we can hit the water.

Be sure to ask her about her love of darts and Jeopardy with her Thursday night regulars...

We may go that route, P-Luv. Thanks for the inside info - it's a small world, eh? At least know I know where Tater Creek is!

Thanks for the kind words, Mike. Not the greatest picture I've ever taken, but definitely not the worst I've been associated with, either. Good to see you again.

Yeah, i must've been looking more at Britton, and I missed it. Better than the other one, right ??

Well for the first time in three months I miss a Sumter GOP meeting and you guys have all the fun. Braden is doing a good job over there and we certainly wish him lots of luck. The RED tie was for a reason I am sure. Going to get me one just like it.

You need to make your meetings as muh fun as his was last night - we had a pinata (in honor of Sotomayor?), a pony, and Sumo wrestling !!

If we have a pinata in Clarendon it will be of someone else. The pony is a good idea and the Sumo wrestling we all know that you are a big fan of that. So you should meet PLUVLAW at the Tater. I have not been down there since January but got a lot of friends that hang out there and the owner is a nice guy from Michigan. The Cheeseburger and food is really good.

Heck, I can't even run into P-Luv in Florence, much less travelling all the way to the Lake to find him. Maybe I'll catch the Florence After Five tonight, and run into him there...

Believe me a Democrat better hide on most of Tater Creek. He is always welcome where I go.

Mike--I forgot you ran over Bugs Bunny on the way back. Did we ever figure out if its duck season or rabbit season? I still say its rabbit season (rascally rabbit!!). Most people hunt for rabbits with a 22; Mike uses a Nissan...teg

Tommy, I should make you walk from now on. I don't drive Nissan's - my ride is a Toyota Avalon, featuring 3.5 litres of Japanese Whoop Ass !!!! BONZAI !!!!!

mike, ask birtton why she was so confused in her house race? she seemed to think the house district included five points and the vista, where she was seen campaigning more than in clarendon.

mg, I'm a gamecock fan too. I am accustomed to abuse and scorn. I feel lonely without it...

Thoroughbred 401k said...

Anon, I can't print that, though Britton might take it as a compliment...I'll let her know you said it - how's that?

mg said...

pluvlaw,

I understand that. I am a Clemson fan and I catch it also. Lets have a beer on the lake soon. Or at The Tator.

Don't worry about meeting Moye, P-Luv. Moye's pretty nice to Democrats - he chatted w/ Cathy Harvin for a half hour, and didn't curse at her once !!

mike, what happened to the nice rack comment?

Thoroughbred 401k said...

Go back a couple comments. Since it's not directly aimed at anyone - and since you want it printed that badly - I put your second request on.
