Right Now....... We Are ALL HOKIES .....

Just a few words to express my sorrow from yesterday's news. Pearl Harbor, The Kennedy Assassination, Oklahoma City, Columbine, 9/11................. this is another one of those terrible, memorable days. But let's try to put a small, positive spin today..

Yesterday's tragedy puts the pettiness and stupidity of politics in it's place. My hope is that after the shock of this has worn off, the politicians will get back to work and constructively settle all the gridlock that makes Washington DC the pariah of the US. That they stop blaming each other for things they both have their hands in, and that they turn the direction of America the right way. Hey, it's my hope - I'm entitled to be unrealistic....

Today, everyone of us - Black or White, Republican or Democrat, Rich or Poor - right now, we are all Hokies...

Forgot Mike still in Philadelphia and last night they had a church service here for all the Va. Tech. people living in the Metro area. It was so moving. My heart just goes out for them.

Ich bin Hokie!

Now when they play Clemson or UVA, that may be altered, but to recall CDB's God Bless America Again and paraphrase, "You try and lay a hand on Hokies fan, and I think you'll understand".

Coming from the days when you could see Remington 12 Ga pump guns hanging in the racks in pick up trucks in the student parking lots as high school, when NO MASS MURDERS happened on campuses because there was easy access to firearms, it is time for teh pendulum to swing back.

Not far from the gun free, unarmed victims zone, known as Virginia Tech, lies a little law school in the Virginia hills where students going back to their cars and bringing back their own guns stopped another gunman within recent history. The "inconvenient truth" that an armed public experiences a lower violent crime rate isn't one that the main stream media is comfortable with.

In passing, perky Katie Couric's impertinent imbecility in an interview with PRESIDENT Bush aired last night, taking cheap shots at the second amendment, deftly was turned by W to our focus being the healing of teh country. Gravitas score Couric 0, Bush 100.

Couric is such a bitch. I bet her body guard has a gun and so does Rosie. When I was in high school I took a shotgun in the car several times as I was in a hurry to go hunting after school with friends it was no big deal. Times have changed. We need to heal a little before all this second amendment discussion. This is not a good time. Later we can discuss how to keep guns away from nuts not legal citizens.

Preach on, Brother Moye! Rep. Moron - I mean Moran in Va. was on the House floor, crying about getting guns out of legal citizens hands. Gov. Kaine of Va. replied that anyone bringing that up at this juncture has no respect from him. It was nice to hear sense from a Democrat for once.
