SC6 on the Road.. National Committeeman Candidate Glenn McCall and House Seat 64 Candidate Britton Pruett !!

Meet the Candidates: Britton Pruett, Glenn McCall & His Wife, Linda...

It's late on Friday, and I'm here at Moye's secret inner sanctum - Graham Slough at Wyboo on Lake Marion. It's a pretty cool cabin, with all the amenities (even wireless internet !), and more liquor than your local ABC Store. I'd give you the location, but I'm sworn to secrecy under the penalty of death. I"ll have pics tomorrow after the sun comes up....

On to business.. We here at SC6 had the exclusive access to a meeting with National Committeman candidate Glenn McCall tonight at The Palms Restaurant in Wyboo. It was a pretty informal event - dinner, lots of chit-chat, and Glenn spoke for just a few minutes. It was nice to have a candidate speak and not ramble on for 2 hours. All you other candidates take notice !!

It was the first time I got to really speak to McCall, and I found him to be a very easygoing and moral guy. He has a strong business background, he's a county chair, so he's familiar with the local workings of the GOP, and he's done a lot of charity work and counseling. See, we Republicans are not just a bunch of rich haters.

A lot has been made of Glenn being an African-American, and how it might help the GOP in the Palmetto State if he were in this post, but I don't think of it that way. We worry about the future of the GOP and African-Americans, but in time, it will come around. Though some may disagree ( because they profit financially or politically from people being kept down), African-Americans have made a lot of progress in the last few decades. Think about it - how many black bank Vice-Presidents were there forty years ago? As they progress, they will start to focus more on their overtaxed paychecks that they work so hard for, and they will come to the GOP, because we care more than those other guys.

I don't vote for candidates based on their skin pigment, and neither should you. I vote for them based on their policies and character, and Glenn went a long way towards getting my vote today. You better hurry - the convention is only three weeks away....

Here's some pics....

Mike I certainly am glad that you could come to Wyboo for the meeting and stay. We appreciate the coverage you have always given us in Clarendon and the coverage that you give our candidates. You are always welcome here.
