And Down the Slop They Come !!!!

Yep, it's that time again. One of our favorite days of the year is back - Kentucky Derby Day! It's all really quite odd. A horse gets born, is sold for millions as a yearling, is trained for a two minute run in the first weekend in May as a three year old - and his/her entire life is judged on how they do in that one race. Winning the Derby guarantees a small place in history. Winning the Triple Crown makes you a legend: Citation. Secretariat. Affirmed. Seattle Slew. Sir Barton. The shot to be never forgotten for five weeks work starts today.....

Of course, luck is almost as important as skill in the Derby. There are 20 horses in the race, and post position is extremely important in making sure you don't get stuck back in the pack.... And this year, there is THE MUD. Rain is expected all day, so the track is a mess, and both jockeys and horses will have big problems. Jockeys often wear ten pairs of goggles during a sloppy race, so their vision is almost eliminated by them. Maybe all of this is why there hasn't been a Triple Crown winner since I was ten....

So, who do we pick? Well, there is no favorite this year. The early line favorite, Lookin at Lucky, is only 7-1, and he has a tough ride coming out from the Number One hole. We're going to pick his stablemate, Conveyance. He's an early starter, which is good if you want to keep the mud out of your eyes, and he's trained by three-time Derby winner Bob Baffert - whose wife is HOT !!!!! There, we just hexed him. Time is short, so make your picks here.....

Hey, if people can boycott Arizona Iced Tea - which is made in NY - over Immigration, then I can pick a horse owned by a guy from Dubai..
