SC6 Remembers Ronnie James Dio ..

We were ready to call it a weekend, when we got the news that Heavy Metal legend Ronnie James Dio passed away today after a lengthy battle with stomach cancer. He was 67. While standing at only 5'4", Dio has one of the biggest voices in Rock. He brought a drama and bombast to rock that many lacked, and many others copied afterwards. Despite this, we was a very easygoing guy who never seemed to take himself too seriously. It was all fun, and that's what Rock should be...
For those of you who aren't as familiar with Dio, there is one thing that you probably do know that Dio is credited with inventing - the so-called 'Devil Horns'. It actually isn't that, it's the symbol for the Italian 'Malocchio', or Evil Eye (Dio's actual name was DioGuardi). Regular readers of SC6 should be very familiar with the Malocchio, since we put it on every team playing the Yankees of Giants in the playoffs.. Thank you, Ronnie, for all the great music - now heaven has someone for lead vocals....
