Today's Founders Quote: Concentration of Affections

"Citizens by birth or choice of a common country, that country has a right to concentrate your affections. The name of American, which belongs to you, in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pride of Patriotism, more than any appellation derived from local discriminations."

- George Washington, 1796 Farewell Address.

We all identify ourselves locally one way or another: South Carolinians, Florentines, Gamecock, Tiger, Republican, Democrat, etc.   But, when it comes down to it, we are all American by birth, and by the grace of God.  Washington made it important even back then... Not sure where she was born, but Marie Avgeropoulos has our affections.  Nicest eyes ever !
