Yep, it's a happy day here in SC6 Land.... It's wasn't pretty, but our New York Giants came back, tightened up, and beat the New England Patriots 21-17. Not to brag, but we were dead on at the end. We got both conference championships right, and the Super Bowl. We'll be honest - we never saw this one coming. All year, we couldn't stand watching the defense (they still need to draft LB's), but they came through when it counted..
We noticed another long time trend.. It seems whenever we move, our teams win championships. 1986: we moved to North Carolina, the Mets and Giants win championships.... 1990: we move to Upstate New York for college, the Giants win again. 1996: we move to Florence, the Yankees start their 4 for 5 Series title run... 2009: we move back to New York, the Yankees win it all once more. Pretty good trend. Perhaps we can talk each of the franchises into paying us to move back and forth every year or two...
That's the good news. The bad news is that football is over until August... Hopefully, you are a NASCAR fan, because that is all that's around until baseball signifies Spring is here. Yeah, basketball is here, but you know what we think of the NBA, and when you're an Islander fan, hockey just isn't as fun as it was from 1979-83... For now, we'll sit back and savor the G-Men's 4th Super Bowl title. It's too early to be talking about Eli Manning in the Hall of Fame. After all, Ben Roethlisberger has 2 titles as well, but Eli's well on his way. Who'da thunk it? Not us...
