Congressman Bauer ?

This Sign Is From an Interchange in the Grand Strand or Pee Dee, Right?  No?  Our Point Exactly ....

Very briefly, we like Andre Bauer. It seems sometimes that we don't.  Nothing personally against him. it just always seems to be that a lot of the time, when Bauer runs for an office, we find someone we think is better suited to the gig.  We know the feeling well.  We finished second twice, you know.

We've been hearing rumblings about Bauer running for the 7th Congressional seat if and when it came up.  It appears that is now true, and we don't get it.  The area is not Bauer's home. He wasn't born there, schooled there or does much, if any business there.  Columbia and Charleston are his homes.  It sounds too much to us like he's pulling a Bobby Kennedy or Hillary Clinton.  Democrats carpetbag, Republicans don't - and we're pretty sure he will pay for it.

Short and sweet, the Pee Dee and Grand Strand might have been under his watch as Lt. Governor, but we are sure there are plenty of qualified people who already work, own property, live and die in the new 7th Congressional District.   Bauer may have to face facts that his days in politics are over - at least until 2018.  We all move on eventually.....

I know Andre is a good friend of yours, Moye. I'm sure he'd be a good Congressman - better than the one you have now!

Mikey--Andre is one of the 800lb elephants in the room. If (big if) he runs he immediately takes out most of the lesser qualified/knowns (think Katherine Jennerette/Mandy Wilkes) and puts a tremendous amount of pressure on the much discussed potential candidates (Viers/Clemmons/Campbell/etc).

I won't dispute your thoughts on Andre having a potential carpetbagger label attached to his campaign but as you and I both know, political momentum could have a strange effect on voters. If Andre runs he is diffently one of the front runners but this far out from the June2012 primary is like being ranked first after the 1st day of NCAA football spring training...teg

Campbell isn't anything to be taken seriously, except in his own inflated imagination.

Campbell is equally a carpet bagger, only one of longer standing.

OTOH, perhaps the Shat could move into SC 7... It could be worse, you could have Al Franken
