There's a Reason for Everything..... Even Stupid Stuff.

" Things don't just happen. everything happens for a reason"

- Klaus Beaudalaire in "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events".

Some things just pop out at you one day, and you wonder what the heck someone was thinking when they did something - and we're not talking about my first marriage. I've been looking at these two trucks on the Used Car lot at my dealership for a week now. Notice the one on the left is $6994, and the one on the right is $6993. Naturally, you might ask, "What is different on the left truck that they might make it $1 more?"

Yes, I know one is a Ford and the other a Chevy, but why not make them the same price, and have a sign saying "Pick One at $6995"? So, I went to the General Manager to find out what the deal was, and of course, there is a reason........

It turns out the trucks would be the same price, but the last number on the price indicates how long the vehicle has been on the lot. They break the group of cars into "buckets", so the Ford is bucket 4, and the Chevy is bucket 3. So now they can tell the car that has been sitting on the lot forever, and they can tell which one to give a deal on and.......... ah, bucket!! There's a reason for everything!
