Hey, when you have a post entitled 'Dear Shit Face', you're bound to run into a gross picture. What is this about? A guy in Buffalo is suing a local collection agency for harassment and improper collection practices when they sent a letter to him, calling him Shit Face...
Yep, Shit Face. It is illegal for collection agencies to use foul language in order to get a customer to pay a debt, and calling someone Shit Face is definitely improper. However, the agency says it is not in violation, and that it's the customer's fault for the S. Face comments....
You see, the agency purchased over 350,000 accounts from Columbia House, and not all of those customers use their real names........ and then some of them call themselves Shit Face. So, if you use the name Shit Face, you get a collection notice for Shit Face. Have I said Shit Face enough yet??
The lawyer for the customer - who declined to be identified - has a sworn affadavit from his client, stating that he never had a Columbia House account under the name Shit Face. That is a solid alibi if I ever heard one - not !! The funniest part of the whole brouhaha? The total bill for the collection is $16.96 . Not exactly worth all the trouble, is it? I'm sure the attorney cost more than that....
One more thing........ SHIT FACE !!!
