All The Clowns Are In Town... Except Burris.
Ahh, January in Washington, DC !!! The air is frigid and icy, and nothing left to watch except The Wizards ..... Thank God all the politicians are back in town, or it'd be really boring. Eh, who are we kidding - it's still boring..
Everyone's playing nice on the floor of the House and Senate. Both sides are promising renewed bipartisanship - for now. But they always say that..Maybe with everyone focused on one issue - the economy - progress can be made. But I have my doubts..
Of course, not everyone is invited to the Three Ring Circus.... Illinois Defacto Senator Roland Burris is still on the outside looking in. Apparently, the Democratic leadership is saying that Burris doesn't have the necessary authorization to sit in the Senate. Illionis State Attorney General Jesse White hasn't signed the OK enacted by Governor Blago yet - and he's not going to.... Folks, this is going to get real ugly - and soon. Burris is considring a lawsuit, and there have been grumblings about racism. I personally think that has nothing to do with it, but I'm white, so what do I know ???
Nah, it's mostly about other people who feel slighted at not getting the job. There is the possibility of Burris still getting the job, albeit not permanently. Everyone on the Democratic side is sure that Burris has a gigantic 'L' tattooed on his forehead, and that the Republicans will find a strong candidate to beat him in 2010. Finding a strong GOP candidate in Illinois is almost impossible (Alan Keyes?), but it could happen. So, if Burris agrees to occupy the seat, and leave it in two years, he might get to stay. Good luck on that - a politician that keeps a promise !!! HA, HA !!!

Burris though isn't the annointed mulatto (Barack was) that the white Dems would let pass the litmus test. Never mind Blago, Roland Burris is probably a f'off and die, move that gives Blago a wedge to embarass the folks that offered the knife that he slipped in his own back.
The appontment IS legal, swear the man in and give him his seat.
