You're Good, Mike - But Not THAT Good !

SC6 Doesn't Make the Washington Post's Best Political Blogs Cut....

We'd like to think that SC6 is the best blog that it could be, but sometimes things come along that tell us otherwise. Like Robert DeNiro said, 'It is what It is.' Basically what he is cryptically saying is that the readers are the ultimate deciders. And a recent post by Washington Post columnist and blog expert Chris Cilizza confirmed it. SC6 ain't the Cat's Meow of SC Political Blogging....

Cilizza made up a list of the top political blogs for every state in the US - and we didn't make it....The winners were Will Folks' FITS News, Adam Fogle's Palmetto Scoop, SCHotline, Palmetto Net News, Indigo Journal, and Wes Wolfe Reports. To crack that list would have been close to impossible.. Will and Adam are fulltime bloggers and political insiders. Wolfe is a journalist. Indigo Journal has at least two people writing for them. SC Hotline and Palmetto Net News are mostly hubs where posts from blogs are collected, including mine. Of course, without SC Hotline and PNN, my posts probably wouldn't have half the readers it did. I might not agree with all of these guys, but I respect them for a job well done...

Yeah, i'm just a putz who works fulltime and blogs part-time. But, I may be the only blogger who actually holds positions within the GOP...It was a tough field. To give you an idea of how strong blogging in SC is, no other state had six winners. Not that there couldn't be others. We always recommend Earl Capps' blog for well thought out political commentary..

Or, if you prefer local issues from the polar opposite viewpoint, but with the same smart-aleck attitude, check out P-Luv's Behind the Pine Curtain...

Meanwhile, we're going back to the drawing board to make the list next year.... I think I need I need more posts on Love Calculators, Pork BBQ and Strippers. We'll work on it.....

I may start a Greeleyville Blog. Serious I have been asked to write articles for three different blogs in the last couple of weeks. Turned them all down. Some were very well read blogs by the way.

We could join into a "Superpowers" blog and take down all comers. You know, like when Dusty Rhodes and Nikita Koloff put their differences aside and set out to conquer the NWA.

We could call it "East meets West" and have the music to Rocky 4 playing when the page loads.

"If I can change...and you can change...We all can change!"

Guess I really do need to brush up on my Russian... As Rocky said in I, II, III, IV , V and Rocky Balboa - "Absolutely".
