Uhhhh.........

Call it the Curse of Reino.... The day after I announce I'm on team Rudy, his state chairman gets indicted for distributing coke. I'm pretty stunned at the announcement, and I don't have a lot to say about it. I don't know Thomas personally that well, but I know a few people who would follow him wherever he went. That faith will be tested.

I've heard all of five words about the specifics, and I do have a question or two. Word is the investigation started in April of this year, but the time of the offenses were in late 2005 - a year before his campaign. The timing of it seems a bit odd to me. No one knew about this in 2006? Or, did someone know, and they waited until he got in office to drop the bomb?

Of course, I don't know the answers to these questions. They'll come out eventually, and who knows how this will go. The truth is you never know what someone does behind closed doors. Some do drugs, some might be gay. Me?? I like to go to a strip club every Blue Moon. Sue me. I gotta go....... I have a resume to write. ;)

Conspiracy theorist Mike.

I never liked Ravenel, and found him to be your basic arrogant rich kid, spoiled rotten and not all that smart. He had canned slogans as answers to questions about both of his campaigns. BUT it seems that a lot of people drank the cool aid. I too attended a few fundraisers for him when he campaigned and couldn't believe how people fawned over him.

This will be a blip on the radar screen for Giuliani's campaign by the way.

Great to hear from you, Andy. How are things at Pee Dee Electric?

I won't deny it. Thomas personally called Giuliani's team for me, so to dump on him right off the bat wouldn't be appreciative. Just playing Devil's Advocate...

Innocent until proven guilty guys.

I will unload soon! Believe you me I will unload soon! These are trumped up charges. This is nothing but the Quinn protection program. I will post it on my blog soon.

I will include intimidation audio files from investigators from the sled grand grand jury.

The quinn's own Robert Stewart.

I wonder where Quinn would benefit, aside from seeing Ravenel out. No doubt Gov. Sanford will name Greg Ryberg Treasurer.

Is it worth tarring your name in the party forever to see a rival get knocked out?

I don't know about he strategy of naming Ryberg to the INTERIM post. Does Greg have an heir apparent in the wings?

How about Ken Wingate for an interim state Treasurer? Unlike appointing Leatherman or Ryberg, Sanford leaves the Senate in order and gets a like minded individual that doesn't have the distractions of a single young man, constitutionally mandated to hold office hours in Columbia on Saturdays...

PS, it might be amusing to derail Leatherman by appointing him, but I doubt that he'd take the post, especially on an interim basis.

Moye, could we sucker John Land into the interim post?

let's go with Rainey

That would be Ironic.

Rhino wins the Grand Prize......Ken Wingate (Wing-It) it is !!

I was just going to call John in Manning to see if he would give up that Senate seat. Probably because I am in the Central Time Zone. Next France.

Damn, I'm good (sometimes)... though Ken is a natural for the post, particularly as an interim.

Ken's got good background in finance, including as a CPA. He might be a good keeper for the slot.

Earl, subject to the rest of the field, I expect another bid from Wingate for Governor, though he could be a dark horse to challenge Graham, if Condon doesn't...

If Wingate for Governor comes true, you would truly be the Swami of Swami's, Rhino.

Sorry, I forgot..... I think Charlie Condon is finished. Maybe it's the pot calling the kettle black, but I thought his Senate campaign was terrible. He lacks gravitas, and he's lost 2 statewide races, which is the Kiss of death in SC Politics.

Not picking on him, but that would be my advice to him.
