If There's a Odder Way to Injure Your Kids, We Haven't Seen It.

Study Shows Going Down a Slide With Your Child in Your Lap Is a Leading Cause of Broken Legs... We Shit You Not!

It's a little hard to tell, but the person in the picture is actress and recent Mommy, Minnie Driver. No, we're not picking on her, it just happened to be the best picture we could find with a Mom and Child on a slide.  Hopefully, she'll consider it a public service...

Time for one of those slightly odd stories we like to post every once in a while.. After all, those convention posts are pretty worn out.  Yesterday, we heard a recent medical survey that tracked causes of child injuries, and a leading reason small kids break their legs is from going down a slide.  But, not from going down by themselves - it's from going down in the laps of their parents...

Yep, it's true, and we have a very simple reason for it...  E=mc2...  It's simple physics.  A kid goes down a slide moving at a rapidly increasing rate of speed, followed closely by a mass about 10-15 times heavier.  If anything causes the kid to decelerate, the parent runs over the kid - who's leg is leading the way - and shit happens...

Hey, we've all done it.  The problem for parents is twofold: First, we worry so much about our kids going down alone , that they might get injured, and we go with them, which is actually MORE dangerous.  Secondly, we parents WANT to go down the slide, so we go with them..  Seriously, an adult going down a slide alone is pathetic looking, so we go with the child, so we don't look stupid.  Love does hurt sometimes...

No, we didn't put too much thought into this either, but now that the numbers prove it, we and hopefully you too will let go,and just let the kids go down the slide alone - you're actually doing them a favor...
