Gas Prices Are Back Up, And You Can Blame It All On Hugh Jackman .....

This is the sign at the Kangaroo station around the corner from my house. It's been awhile since we've seen this. Straight gas is more than Diesel. It's over $2 a gallon again. Two days ago, it was $1.81...
Now, what could be the reason for this? Crude prices haven't moved much. Refiners aren't charging much differently, and we aren't using any more than before. It's pretty obvious what it is - Summer is coming. But we're not even close to Memorial Day weekend.... Or so you might think.
You see, Summer used to start June 22nd, then it moved up to Memorial Day weekend. Nowadays, another industry has decided to start their Summer season even earlier - and the Oil Industry is gladly going along with it.. It's the movies. Every year, the Summer Movie season unofficially kicks off Summer, and this year, it started even earlier when Hugh Jackman's blockbuster "Wolverine" hit theaters this past weekend - and that's when the gas prices went up 12% overnight.
Yeah, I might sound like Oliver Stone here, but I think it's a pretty airtight conspiracy theory..Don't try proving otherwise - it's useless. I'm right, and you're wrong.

I have to wonder how Al Gore's shares of Occidental Petroleum are doing with this evil inflationary move in gas prices.
