Chuck's Math Is Off ...... Again.

Next He'll Tell You That He Has Seven Fingers ... Cheshire Cat Schumer Caught Making Up Texting Accident Stats ..
BULLSCHUMERING: To lie, to decieve, to misconstrue.
Yeah, of course we mean bullshitting, but we figured that this is a more socially acceptable form of the word, and judging by the outcry from the F-Bomb I dropped on my Facebook page, this should be appreciated. We do try sometimes....
Among Democrats and Republicans, we can find a couple that you know are trying to do the right thing - but only a couple. Many of them are difficult to tell when they're being honest or not. And then there are some that are so full of Bull Durham, that you know it's a lie, because their mouth is open. Chuck Schumer is one of those guys, thus he has earned the term BULLSCHUMERING. Besides, it just rolls right off the tongue. Try it...
So, what is Chuckie lying about this week? Well, there is a problem in many areas with people, particularly teenagers and young adults, texting while driving. Yeah, it is a pretty bad idea. Yes, I've done it, but I'll tell you right now, it was usually on Third Loop Rd. Unless you are stuck in a major traffic jam, it is stupid if not almost impossible to text and drive. But, some people try. Now, you're back in Columbia, Charleston and Florence, and you're saying "Hey Yankee Dipshit, what to do I care about this?" I'll tell you....
Schumer and other Senators want to enact a Federal Ban on texting while driving. In case you didn't know, you can't drive and be on a cellphone here already, unless it's handsfree. Schumer wnats to enact it in the way most Senators do to get compliance - by tying it into the Highway Trust Fund. No text law, no money .... If you want to make it a personal freedoms issue that we love so much in SC, be my guest. First they go after my texting, then it's my guns.......
Anyway, what did Schumer say? He went on TV Sunday, claiming that 100 teens have been killed in the New York area from texting while driving accidents. Well, everyone asked where he got these numbers from, and Chuck had to make an about face, mainly because he had no data. Though one of his flunkies, he said "While there is no hard data available.. we based our study on a NHTSA report, stating that texting was a significant cause of teen fatalities." Schumer actually took ALL of the teen deaths from 2001-2005 in Nassau County, NY, and assumed they all died from texting.....
The fact is that no one has a fixed number on that. Texting is lumped together with about other causes in a 'distracted driver' category. Also, the legislator who passed the texting while driving ban that takes effect November 1st admitted that he could not recall a single case where someone died in the county from texting. In an area like here, it is probably a good idea. There are enough distractions on the road. But those DC politicians will enforce the same law on a person driving down a flat, straight, empty interstate road as well - and they'll use any statistics they can to make you do it. BULLSCHUMERING.......
