Picture of the Day ....

A nice casual view for you to get your weekend off to a nice start. This is the view across the Fire island Inlet from Captree Overlook. That is the famous Fire Island Lighthouse, which is the gateway to the private part of Fire Island - and more rich gay people than you will ever meet in your life. Waldo will probably slam me for this, but I like gay people - they're the only other guys who watch Bravo. Hey, I like Top Chef .....Sue Me.

Oh great politico of the Pee Dee;
Question- Is Rob Miller a carpet-bagger? I know what he says on his bio- he was born and raised in SC- but I smell a rat- his father was navy veteran. Just because a cat has kittens in the oven, that dont make them biscuits.

Tom, I will miss the temperate winters there, although I won't miss 60 degrees Christmas mornings - it just isn't Christmas without cold weather..

The snow forecast might be for the Upstate. I've seen mid-October snow up there before. I don't expect any snow here - I'm more concerned with the Yankee game getting rained out...

Some soup would be nice today, though..

If my biscuits were meowing, I wouldn't eat them either, Anon! It's a bit dicey on that one.. Born and raised, but gone for 13 years, then dropped right back in and ran for Congress? Hmmmmm.

Now, I AM a SC6 expert, so SC2 isn't my backyard, but having spent a little time down there, I'm surprised the Dems haven't found a better local guy to put up. Miller has had some great luck,twice: first he coattailed Obama to a good showing, then Joe Wilson blew his spout, and everyone with a 'D' asked where they can give money to beat him...

Next November is a long time away. Let's see how he does with a spotlight on him for 12 months...

If your gonna have 15minutes of fame you do not want it before September of the election cycle. Miller will be hard pressed to match Joe Wilson. Wilson has hit a catch phrase (I'm with Joe)that seems to be rallying the southern right to his side. This year he widens his margin of victory but it will be expensive for both.

Who knows Speaker Wilson from South Carolina? Stranger things have happened, you do remember the presumptive nominee in 2008, what was her name? Oh yeah, Clinton...teg
