I'm not sure if you've heard this one yet, but hockey player Sean Avery of the Dallas Stars was suspended this week for six games. Not for fighting, or hitting someone with his stick, or anything he did on the ice. Nope, he got suspended for disparaging remarks he made about other NHL players dating his ex's......
Avery, who last dated actress Elisha Cuthbert and model Rachel Hunter, said '"I just want to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don't know what that's about, but enjoy the game tonight." Yep, that was it. He got suspended for calling Cuthbert and Hunter 'sloppy seconds'.
No, it's not very respectful - or classy for that matter. But it sounds like Avery has a bit of a grudge over all of this too. Dallas has arranged for Avery to get some help as well for what the NHL described as his 'pattern of unacceptable and anti-social behavior.' It makes me laugh a bit, because hockey players are not maitre'd's or customer service reps. These are big goons that get paid to hit other big dudes, then celebrate afterwards by drinking - a lot. They are hockey players.
That being said, one has to wonder if Avery has all his marbles. Judging by the pics of Cuthbert, he must be nuts.. She's HOT !!
