H1N1 Elmo With Safety Mask ... Coming to Toy Stores Soon ?
No, it's not in the greatest taste today that we're talking about the Swine Flu Virus. After all, we did have our first H1N1 virus related death this weekend, but we found this interesting. The White House, in tandem with the Dept. of Homeland Security, Education and Health and Human Services, has enlisted a new player in the battle against the virus - Sesame Street.
An article in TheHill.com , the three Federal Agencies will work with Elmo and Gordon to produce a series of PSA's to educate kids on avoiding the virus, like washing your hands, avoiding sick people, staying home if your sick, and sneezing and coughing away from people. Kids and their parents are the most at risk for H1N1, so it will educate the target groups most needing education.
See, this is a positive post after all. I'm all for PSA's for public health. Who are kids going to listen to more - Kathleen Sebelius or Elmo? That's a no-brainer ....
