While we're all paying attention to Hurricane Gustav hit New Orleans, we here in the Palmetto State appear to check our own backyards soon. Tropical Storm Hanna is stationary in the Bahamas, but she looks ready to start moving - and South Carolina very well might be the landfall area....
Obviously, it's all a bit dicey - remember Fay had a shot of running us over, but she just couldn't get enough of Florida. However, the models all show a path between Brunswick, Georgia and Charleston, which is where - GULP ....HUGO !! hit. Did I send a shiver down your spine ??? BOO!
It isn't expected to be a monster storm right now, but by the time it makes landfall Thursday or Friday, it could be a small Category 2 storm - which will destroy all forms of life as we know it. Maybe not, but it could total out a trailer or two... We'll keep you updated.

hurricanes never hit georgia maybe this is their time
Yeah, it is almost impossible based on the geography, but this one is coming in sideways. they usually skirt up the coast.
we need the water in lake marion
Last look an Navy Meterology's projections looked like hitting between Brunswick and Savannah, eventually following I-77 into W Va.
Uh Mikey, on further review, Hugo hit between Chuck and Awendaw... the other side of the Ashley River.
I know... Just trying to put the Skeer in y'all.
the latest GFDL model run (historically the most accurate) has it hitting around Charleston as a Cat 4 with 145mph sustained winds. all of the forecast models are pretty much in unison as far as the track, but not with the intensity so far. When you get up on Thursday morning, everything should be pretty clost to being locked in....maybe even by Wednesday night at 11.
