Ike Hits Galveston Hard........
With all the news about the Financial Crisis and the upcoming election, we seem to have forgotten just how bad Hurrican Ike hit Texas. Perhaps when the citizens don't blame everything on FEMA and George W. Bush, the media doesn't get as riled up....I don't know, but the pictures of Galveston and Houston look just as bad as Katrina to me.....

All the years I have spent on the Gulf Coast I took this hard. There is a special place in my heart for Houston, Galveston, Surfside Beach and the coast of Texas. This has been like a second home for years. While a lot of that beach was run down it was still home to a lot of people. Notice you are not hearing a lot of crying from these Texans. Maybe a few in Houston and those are probably some that were in New Orleans at one time or at least a cousin.
Thnaks for your perspective, Moye - I was hoping you'd post on it.
They had to scrounge for them, but a couple people were complaining. However, most just said they need the power back on, and they'd take it from there...
Wanna bet that Ike's urban renewal leads to overbuilding...
Over time, maybe. Will they rebuild there anytime soon? I have some doubts, but this America....
