Another Yankee Makes the Hall of Fame..

Congratulations to Rich "Goose" Gossage, who made the Baseball Hall of Fame today. Gossage, a Yankee reliever in the late 70's and early 80's, was the only inductee this year, as former Red Sox slugger Jim Rice came just a few votes short....
Goose was by far the most intimidating relief pitcher of his time, with his Fu Manchu mustache and his 98 MPH fastball. For those of you keeping score, that's only 3 MPH slower than Andre Bauer drives... He won 127 games and saved 310 more in a time when relievers often came in the 7th inning, not the 9th. Good Job, Goose !!
