Boy, is this year a mess so far, or what ??? Three states down, three GOP winners. Meanwhile, on the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton won, but there are some definite signs that she has a major fight on her hands.....
Romney's 10 point win over John McCain, with the Campbell Soup Chef - I mean Mike Huckabee - trailing by another 13 points, has thrown the GOP nomination into a free for all. It seems that whoever has the 'must-win' state pulls it off, and this was surely Romney' gotta win....
Picture this, which is not impossible: Huckabee in Iowa, McCain in New Hampshire, now Romney in Michigan. Fred Thompson has set his flag in South Carolina, and Rudy Giuliani has put his money into Florida. Thompson is on the move here, so it is entirely possible that we could have five diffeent winners as we head into Super Tuesday. Holy Crap!!
Hillary's win might be the most damaging win in Primary history... When you are the only major candidate on a ballot, and you lose 35% to 'Uncommitted' , you have a big problem. Hillary's problem is that she has lost the black vote - she actually did 69% to 25% - and they came out in droves to protest. She tried to tie up all those ends early on, but the voters are showing that they don't vote for a candidate because their preacher or State Senator supports them for cash. Congressman Clyburn, keep that in mind..
Sure, she'll get them back in the Fall, but has she lost so much ground that she won't get there? It's possible. She's going to get a good thumping here in SC, so she probably can't wait for Super Tuesday to get here.
Tonight's best moments...
I Won, Therefore I Step On Your Speech.
John McCain comes out to concede Michigan. He starts to speak, and then Mitt Romney comes right out afterwards - McCain's speech gets skipped. Slick move, Mitt.
1998 Seems Like a Long Time Ago..
Waiting for Huckabee to concede, Fox Anchor Brit Hume had to ask who the guy talking forever was...... It was former Gov. David Beasley, who went on for about a half hour before Huckabee finally arrived. Hume's mic was open when he asked"Who is that?? What's his FIRST name?". Wow, that's a bit of a kick in the stones for Beasley....

mccain wins sc and obama does also
I agree on Obama, McCain is not a definite yet - it's going to be tight there.
mccain has it right now mike and so does that obama dude
Hmmm... Edwards gets the yella dogs and the disgusted in the inconsequential last gasp and ONLY state that he wins. Not enough to give him a coat tail effect to ride into a Veep slot, but enough to keep buying ad time and wasting other peoples money.
Hill blames Bill after Television Road or I-95 truck stop issues come up and Obama takes Jim Clyburn to the woodshed (San Fran Nan finds little use for vinegar pepper sauce, trotters or pork rinds in her cafeteria, JC finds more in common with the red side of the house, doesn't bolt, but finds a knife to slip in Nan's back for his demotion from the house to the field)
Red sauce side of the results, Thomnpson takes a couple of CDs, Romney inconsequentially takes one while McCain & Huckabee split the other three. Katon leaves his successor with a sack of maunure @ Year - 4 (or 8) for staying first in the south.
The balance, undecided in the CD races gets the backroom fix and promises of cabinet jobs and quid pro quo Presidential backing in Gubernatorial and Senate races.
At least that's what my Rice Krispies told me this morning, confirmed by the alies that were seen flying over Texas.
WR you out did yourself this time
moye, that was the rice krispies talking... the pepper sauce bottle is waiting on the black eyed peas to speak up.
