It's About Time, Axl !!

Guns 'n Roses First Album in 17 Years FINALLY Hits Stores.....
Nothing quite like making them wait, eh? Well, if you liked waiting, then you've loved the interminable wait for Axl Rose to put out the latest Guns 'n Roses record. For those of you who can't remember, Guns 'n Roses were probably the greatest group in the late 80's and early 90's. The band started to unravel under the stress, and Axl Rose's need to create the ultimate epic record.
After years of waiting, everyone else in the band quit. It's pretty bad when Slash considers you screwed up... Anyway, after a mind boggling 17 years, Guns n' Roses (or more correctly, Axl Rose and a slew of hired hands) has put out Chinese Democracy, the first record since 1991's Use Your Illusion I & II..
Yes, 17 years is an EXTREMELY long time between albums. John Fogarty of CCR had a lifetime ban from recording with his record company, and that only lasted 12 years. George W. Bush's father was President the last time Axl cut a record, for Pete's sake.....
To give you an idea of how long ago 1991 was, here are some examples...
m
Vanilla Ice was #1 on the charts
Grunge was about to be launched, Kurt Cobain was still alive....
Bill Clinton was just Governor of Arkansas then..
I just graduated college, and was ready to conquer the world !!!
Barack Who?
Ms. X was in second grade...
Rocky Pearce was Mayor of Florence, and Joe Riley was Mayor of Charleston for a mere 18 years..
Now, the album has been reviewed by David Fricke of Rolling Stone, and he says it kicks ass, givign it 4 of 5 stars... It better be, buddy. After workign on it for 17 years, this record should be the Holy Grail of rock music. I better have an erection after 30 seconds of listening to this thing, or it'll be a letdown. If you want a copy, it's on sale, but only at Best Buy. Smart marketing: make everyone wait two decades, then limit where it's sold.

Sha-na-na-na-knees, knees. You're in the jungle.

After 17 years, the damn thing better be so extraordinary, that actually playing it in Tiananmen Square will bring about democracy in China. And if so, we should immediately send Axl to Iraq.

I vaguely remember this group. I'm sure there were songs I used to listen to.

You may have just that one. I think you were in full baby birthing mode in the late 80's and early 90's.

Yes! I had all three by the 1993.
