SC6 Remembers Mitch Mitchell...

Jimi Hendrix's Drummer Dies at the Age of 61.
Classic Rock lost another one of it's legends today, when Mitch Mitchell, drummer for the Jimi Hendrix Experience, passed away at a hotel room in Portland, Oregon. The good news is that his passing appears to be from natural causes - a near miracle, considering how hard the trio of Hendrix, Mitchell and bassist Noel Redding partied in the 60's and 70's. Hendrix died in 1970, Redding in 2003...
While Hendrix's guitar playing was well-regarded as revolutionary, Mitchell's drumming was as well. He grew up playing jazz, and his playing reflected it, but he took it to another level, incorporating psychodelia with it. A lot of today's players are influenced by Mitchell, whether they know it or not. Now, Mitchell, Hendrix and Redding are jamming together once again....
