This Is the Track Bertha Took in 1996.... Look Familiar ??
Yep, we have out first Hurricane of the season, and it's taking an interesting track towards the Carolinas. Bertha is her name, with 75 MPH winds right now. She's tracking due west on a slightly more northern clip than most hurricanes take.... Just..... like.... GULP !! HUGO !!!!!!
Yes, I said Hugo. Now that you've all retroactively pooped in your pants, don't get scared yet. It's expected to move more northely over this week, and hit Bermuda. but , you never know. There was another Hurricane Bertha back in 1996, and she was headed right for Charleston and Myrtle Beach, before making a last-minute turn towards Wilmington - where EVERY hurricane hits.
Bobby, what's your take on this one???

My pond is OK, but my grass looks like shit ! Some good, steady rain would be nice...
It ('96 Bertha) did work some wonders on NC's drought. MG, are you glad the slough isn't up on Hartwell (down 11 ft this year)?
ummm...i'm a bit late on this one, but a week and a half ago i would have told you it would come close to the southeast coast before taking off to the north between Hatteras and Bermuda. well, it looks like it's going to head a bit further east than that. it has prompted coastal flood warnings though along the east coast. might be a busy season again.
