I shit you not... You are looking at the hottest thing on 4 wheel to car thieves, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau. For the 4thyear in row, the 95 Honda Civic was in the Top Ten among stolen cars, and first for the second straight year.It was followed by the 91 Honda Accord, the 89 Toyota Camry, and the 97 Ford F-150....
While it's not exactly the biggest head turner, there are a lot of Civics on the road, so a lot of them get stolen. Why you ask? Simple: for the parts...
Since there are a ton of them on the road, lots of them get in accidents, but there are a limited number of parts available, and the older a car gets, the higher the price of parts get. So, many less-than-honest bodyshops will, uh, find an alternate car for the parts. Did I ever mention that many auto body shops are crooked? Now you know....
Another factor is that the Honda Civic usually will use the same body style for four or five years, so you can need a part for a 92 Civic, and steal a 95 and use it's parts.. Easy cheesy !!
So, if you own and old Japanese car , you better get a Lo-Jack, because someone wants it more than you know. I have a friend named Joel who can hook you up with one. (Free Plug).....
